France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
this was good, just finished season one, with the way it ended we have to see season two!
Love the series. Moving Crossing Lines to the USA-Network cable channel own by NBC would seem to be a good fit. Covert Affairs is a very successful show on the USA-Network that is shot 90% outside of the U.S. w/Crossing Lines that gives us fans more views of the world and keeps USA a great cable channel to watch.
We love the series and look forward to the next shows.
Hope this show airs in American this year. Season one was really good.
I loved the show! Discovered it on Netflix and watched them back to back. It would really help to get more viewers if the show was actually advertised. I cannot recall seeing a single commercial for it. Would really enjoy watching season 2
I love all foreign cop shows….bring season 2 on….crossing lines to me is better than American cop shows…
Great show but never saw any advertising for it during the summer. I found it on netflix and enjoyed the entire series. Hope they make the decision to bring it back.
Loves this series!!
yes I would.my wife and I enjoyed the series. It is rare that my wife and I watch the same shows . But this one is a hit for us. So bring it on.
Started watching this on Netflix and now I’m hooked. Please continue making this series…it is so new and refreshing to watch actors who are so talented and the storylines so unique. Never saw this on regular television…I don’t remember hearing anything about it or I’m sure I would have watched it.
Please do season 2. Season one left us hanging.
This show needs to continue. After viewing it there is a excellent storyline that needs to be continued. Seasoned actors giving outstanding performances in an atmosphere that let’s mundane sunny side up Americans see what it’s like in the real world. Where crossing lines is an every day aspect of life.
I love this show and I am an American.
why do Americans only like watching garbage. Bring good shows like Crossing lines back to regular TV.
Great show… Hope NBC airs season 2, but will watch it where ever it ends up.
