France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Really love the characters being so different .the cultural diversity of team and backgrounds for crimes never dull…hope somebody picks it up for 2nd season..
I found the show too late to catch all episodes on NBC. Fortunately, I just saw the last two episodes on Netflix. This show is so superior to most American TV, I find it hard to believe
there is a chance it might be renewed. Yes! I would watch it on USA or another cable channel if season two airs. Fingers are crossed.
OMG, Just found this show on Netflix…..Love it!
You can also purchase Season 1 of Crossing Lines in Blue-Ray, online. I think it was from Walmart; it was awhile ago. It is great owning it and was fun watching it the second-time around. Look forward to seeing Season 2, even if I have to purchase it; which I will do anyway as soon as it is available. Absolutely love it and William Fichtner is a favorite of mine!!
We need different and that’s why I like the show very much . Have you look at the cope shows all the same structure just different faces
Really like crossing lines. Great cast and story. Would like to see the series continue.
Most definitely, I just watched season 1 on Netflix and have been stuck on it for several days. The format and style are very different, but the story lines are good. I like the high tech and logical approach to the problems.
I absolutely love this show. I do not understand why it did not do better in the US. Guess Modern Family, My Husband Brother, Two Men and a Horse are so much more entertaining. This show is in another class in contrast to the trash they show on our networks. Please bring back this show on the Network, put it in a good time slot and promote the show like it should have been last year.
I only caught a few episodes but the ones I saw I really enjoyed. I love The show and the acting and story was superb. It would have had more viewers had they known that it was on. I hope NBC has a change of heart and doesn’t drop the ball on this great show. I love William Fitchner and Donald Sutherland.
I did not know NBC had this show, I found season one on Netflix. The show is great, NBC needs to carry it again, also look at their personal, whom ever makes the calls for slots needs from them a new slot.
I love the show great actors each one fits the part they play, sad to see Moon Daily go though. The show has intrigue, sapience and ties the carters back ground in nicely so far. I hope NBC does not cancel this show like it does so many good shows. I support the show because it is well written with fantastic actors, that’s why I watch the show.
Cherie
Great show, great actors, hope NBC gives the show another season. NBC never seems to give these good shows a run for there money. They put them in a bad time slot and hope people watch them. Maybe AMC will pick up the show.
Found the show on Netflix….became addicted. This is a great show and the ending left me wanting Season 2 right now! Please continue the show in the US….thanks.
Great show! Love seeing the different locales. Exciting story lines. Decent acting. NBC should renew. If not will watch on another channel or if it returns to Netflix.
I am about to watch Season 1, episode 7. I am enthused about the show; it is exciting and original. All of the actors are perfect in their roles. Please, NBC, don’t cop out as you usually do. This can be another 24. As I recall that series for FOX began slowly and then took off like a rocket.
Great show. Didn’t know about it until we found it on Netflix. Please carry it again NBC.
