France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Please renew. The show was very well written and entertaining
“Netflix Picks Up ‘Crossing Lines’ for U.S. Streaming After NBC Run” – found the aforementioned article on Esquire Network online. They are still not sure if any network will be picking up the second season; however, I think chances have improved with “someone doing something” about this show besides forgetting about it!!! It, too, is a favorite of mine and I look forward to watching Season 2 somehow.
Please Renew on any channel!
just found this amazing series and i love it ,but the networks need to advertise better i would be heart broken if this had gotten cancelled before it finds an audience they need to give it a chance need i remind you of the disaster of star trek they cancelled it a look what happened to that it took off like crazy a is bigger now more than even then . it takes time to find an audience not three episodes i have lost out on some awesome shows do to this ,so give it a chance i know i… Read more »
Please renew. I had no idea this series was on TV. Found it on NETFLIX and watch the whole thing with the wife in two days. Was assume and the ending killed me. So please renew.
Please renew — another cable channel is fine!
I absolutely love Crossing Lines and watched it on Netflix. I hope season 2 gets picked up by Netflix.
I love Crossing Lines. Sunday was not a great night for this show. It was thought provoking, and just enough action to keep the interest going. Please renew for another season, and I would suggest moving it to another night, and give it some attention commercial-wise, so people actually know about it. It did not receive much last season. Let’s be smart, and not get rid of a promising show.
Bring it back, filmed in europe is very interesting.
It seems every time there is a new and decent show, they cancel it. I for one, am so sick and tired of the reality (Bachelor-come on people!), singer want-to-be shows (people statistically never make anything of themselves), dramas like the Good Wife (sorry, so stupid!)… hell, that stupid show with the talking dog, is still on television. Come on NBC, I may not be the average American who sits in front of their TV 16 hours a day but, I want something worth actually turning my TV on, for. Crossing Lines was a very good reason to watch some… Read more »
Trust nbc to be so stupid as to cancel such a brilliant show as crossing lines. Morons, if they dont keep it.
Awesome show if nbc was smart they’d pick it up. Glad to hear it will be available on netflix.
NBC please bring it back! The cast is great and William Fichtner is one of the best actors ever. William Fichter is also excellent on Prison Break, another great show to check out on Netflix. I was also addicted to Crossing Lines on Netflix. Barely heard about the show on regular TV. Definitely needs more advertising. Sunday not a good day for this kind of show. It should have been promoted better and put on a weekday. I will watch it on any channel as long as I here where to tune in.
Sounds like no one knew it was on NBC and everyone is watching it on Netflix , that should tell the network work something. It is a great show and I would hope they bring it back but they need to do some advertising. I enjoyed the show and have told family members about it also for something to watch on Netflix.
My husband & I watched all 10 on Netflix, and we loved it. Please bring it back to TV. It might need more advertising o at an earlier time.
We love the show. Binged on Netflix. Too bad NBC hides it so carefully. Looking forward to soph. season.
Watched Crossing Lines on Netflix and loved it! If NBC doesn’t show, I hope netflix will!
