The second season of Devious Maids’ saw a big drop in the ratings and fell about 30% when compared to the first season. Have the numbers rebounded in season three? Will this Lifetime series be cancelled or renewed for a fourth year?
Devious Maids revolves around a group of Latina maids who work in the homes of wealthy and powerful families in Beverly Hills. The large cast includes Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sánchez, Judy Reyes, Edy Ganem, Tom Irwin, Rebecca Wisocky, Brianna Brown, Brett Cullen, Grant Show, Susan Lucci, Drew Van Acker, Naya Rivera, Gilles Marini, Nathan Owens, Ivan Hernandez, and John O’Hurley.
Season three kicked off on June 1st of this year and attracted a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.465 million viewers. Compared to the second season’s premiere, that was down by more than 25%. The numbers didn’t get much better as the season progressed.
Thus far, this season of Devious Maids has been averaging a 0.46 demo rating with 1.32 million. That’s down by more than 25% year-to-year and obviously not a good sign for the show’s future. (Season one averaged 0.89 in the demo with 2.53 million.)
UNReal was recently renewed for a second season with about half as many viewers while The Lottery and Witches of East End were both cancelled last year.
Will Devious Maids be renewed for a fourth season? I suspect it will because, despite the serious declines in viewership, it’s still their highest-rated scripted series — and they only have two left. The drama also fits well with their brand and has high-profile names (Desperate Housewives’ Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria) attached to the series. While that won’t ensure the show’s future forever, I suspect it will be enough for now.

Lifetime please don’t leave us hanging and renew Devious Maids. The Maids are great and a welcome change from all the reality shows other stations are airing in abundance. My favorites are Rosie who everyone seems to underestimate and Zoila who speaks her mind with flare. I hope you listen to your loyal viewers and renew Devious Maids.

Please make a season 4 if this show gets cancelled I will loose all faith in lifetime I’m sick of watching and loving shows and then they get cancelled like witches of east end this show is amazing and deserves to be around for years to come!!!!!!

They have to renew it! I can’t wait till it’s on again to find out about Adrian. He and Evelyn are my favorite couple. I hope he’s alive somehow. And Zoila! We have to find out about her. I can’t believe Lifetime would leave us hanging.

Come on now, y’all! Devious Maids is one of the very few shows that’s actually worth watching! It has its down moments, sure…but theyre few & far between, and that just proves that it can happen to the best of shows. I say definitely renew!

I REALLY TRUELY luv this Lifetime series, at least since they cancelled the number 1 show that I LUVED MORE THAN ANYTHING!!!! But my luck they will cancel the other awesome show I LUV!!!! I really truely pray they WILL NOT!!! 🙂
