It’s an exciting time to be a Doctor Who fan. Variety reports BBC America will announce the 13th Doctor this Sunday.
The long-running sci-fi drama just finished its 10th season, the last for Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor. The new doctor is expected to make their first appearance in the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, which premieres on BBC One on December 25th.
For those who can’t wait to see who the new time-traveling hero is, BBC America will announce the 13th Doctor after the Wimbledon Men’s Final on Sunday, July 16th.

What do you think? Do you watch Doctor Who? Who do you think the new Doctor will be?
Hold the phone. The new Doctor is not a female. Given the new “science” on gender fluidity…it’s entirely possible and indeed probable…the new Doctor who BTW isn’t even human…could in fact be something beyond our limited conceptual understanding of gender. In any case, you can expect a short lived bump in viewership…if the screen chemistry & scripts aren’t radically improved from the previous Doctor.
A couple of years ago I discovered Doctor Who and binge watched Series 1-8 and Last Christmas and was able to watch series’s 9 and 10 live. This’ll be the first regeneration I’ll be watching live. It will be interesting to see if he regenerates into a female but I do hope that he’s a red head this time because he has expressed that he always wanted to be one.
Can’t get BBC America now so this just depresses me.
I’m rooting for Hayley Atwell. If the Master can have a female regeneration, why shouldn’t the Doctor?
Really enjoy Dr Who. Looking forward to seeing the new person who is playing Dr Who. It is a good combination of science fiction and some comedy.
