Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I thought this was one of the most interesting and well-written, well-acted shows currently airing. Full of surprises. I will miss it! Given that chances of it getting picked up elsewhere are slim, I think the finale was done pretty well. Plenty of open questions but at least the main baddie got caught, we found out that Ben (probably) didn’t actually hurt Adam, and Claire made her peace with Ben. I am so upset! I watched every single episode on the edge of my seat. How could such a brilliant show get such poor ratings? I was so excited to see what happened next season. This is just horrible news. 🙁
You can not cancell this BRILLIANT series! The people that are watching love it. It is amazingly written and the twists and turns are awesome. I never want an episode to end! I am 30 years old and this is the best show on network television. If ABC doesn’t renew it, I pray another network does. The writers and cast are brilliant!
So pissed! This is by far my favorite show right now (sorry Grey’s Anatomy). The show has so much potential. Anyone who didn’t watch this has missed out! When Resurrection was cancelled I was so upset as well. I feel like all ABC does is tease us with these shows and then cancel them on us. Like what ever happened to Secrets and Lies?! I can’t take the disappointment anymore! Come on ABC!!! So very sad 🙁

I love this show, best show I’ve seen in a long time!! I am so devastated that the show was canceled. I would count down the days to watch a new episode. I agree if ratings were low it’s because the advertising was weak. I hope they bring it back would love to watch season 2!!

I was surprised and shocked to just read it was cancelled. I just finished watching the last episode and was so intrigued and could not wait for next season. I hope another network picks it up. The show was amazing!
