What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On January 3, 2018, Freeform ordered a spin-off and announced The Fosters ends with a three night event. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. Please renew the fosters for season 6 season 5 leaves it open for another season. I love the show it’s the only really good show I have watched in a long time.

I love the Foster I was hoping for the showing going with them taking in new kids like mama had ask Stef at the end and of course I would watch the spin off but still want the foster I was devasted when she starter saying the words from the song then started anoucing the other children graduating.
I like watching The Fosters. The stories reach out to a variety of people and are true to life. I would really like to see them continue on their journey.
Why did they do this to me?! I loved that show and watched like 4 episodes everyday!! We’ll all miss that show!! Bring it back please!

It’s time to boycott free form. You have a awesome show and loyal viewers and decided to pull out after only 5 seasons! I will not watch this channel again. Unless it’s for a new season!
