What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On January 3, 2018, Freeform ordered a spin-off and announced The Fosters ends with a three night event. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens, so subscribe for free updates on The Fosters cancellation and renewal news.

I THINK THE FOSTER’S SHOULD BE RENEWED. IT IS A GREAT SHOW AND IF SIX WOULD BE THE LAST SEASON THEN HOW ABOUT WRAPPING UP SOME OF THE LOOSE ENDS BEFORE “GOOD TROUBLE” STARTS. GEEZ I HAVE IT WHEN YOU DO NOT GET CLOSURE

The foster need a season six. We have all fallen in love with the characters. The Fosters are really popular show, it makes no since to cancel it.
I think they should come back for season 6 it is interesting and I really love this show.

I really love this show.. It’s meaning of LOVE in a UNCONDITIONAL way is more of what this WORLD needs to see..We all are just humans that wish these kind of change will happen..God Bless America and may more of this kind of LOVE make it back into our lives..

Please reconsider. Me and so many others have learned so much from this show. And families dont just end because college is over and one gets married. You left us wondering so much. And left us with unfulfilled answers. I mean.. Come’on Callie Quin Adams Foster… Where is your fight for this one 😉 but for real please think it over at lease. As the kids would say. It would mean a lot you have no idea.

Omg same here I do not want to see the fosters go o feel as though the show helped me in many ways because I was a foster child too and this show helped me cope with alot of things as it did with Marianna and callie
Why are you canceling another great show I’m beginning to set guess keep cable or starting watching any more shows because I get into watching a show and then it gets canceled so upset
How many episodes were there in season 5? I thought I saw where there were 19, but it only showed 9 on my Netflix unless I really missed something.

I totally agree. Best show I have seen in a very long time. Please do a sixth season.
