Over on the FOX network, both editions of American Idol did essentially the same ratings as they did the week before. Family Guy and The Chicago Code were also both flat. Only Bones and The Cleveland Show were up. New comedies Traffic Light and Breaking In both had huge week-to-week losses.
Which FOX TV shows will be cancelled or renewed depends mostly on the series’ ratings, particularly the 18-49 demographic. Before we get to the season-to-date averages, here are the winners and losers from April 8th through April 14th — based on the coveted demo, as measured against the last original episode.
Week-to-Week Gains: Bones 3.5/10 (+9.4%), and The Cleveland Show 2.4/6 (+14.3%).
No Change: Family Guy 3.3/9, The Chicago Code 1.8/4, American Idol 7.3/21 (Weds), and American Idol 6.4/20 (Thurs).
Week-to-Week Losses: American Dad 1.6/5 (-5.9%), The Simpsons 2.3/7 (-17.9%), Bob’s Burgers 1.9/5 (-13.6%), House 3.2/9 (-5.9%), Traffic Light 0.9/2 (-18.2%), and Breaking In 2.6/7 (-25.7%).
Below is a list of the regular FOX TV shows and their 2010-11 season average ratings to date. It only incorporates the ratings for original episodes and not repeats. The data is sorted by the all-important 18-49 demographic averages. The closer a show is to the bottom, the more likely it is to be cancelled. Fridays and Saturdays are the least-watched nights of TV so those shows get lower numbers.
