As expected, there won’t be a second season for Gang Related. FOX has cancelled the summer cop drama after one season of 13 episodes.
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.

The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers.
That was a poor showing right out of the gate and the ratings got even worse as the weeks progressed.
It ended up being one of FOX’s worst-performing summer series. Despite having a small but loyal audience, it was expected that the network would cancel the show.
The final episode, which aired August 14th, left plenty of things unresolved.

I am beyond furious….I can’t believe FOX is yet Canceling this AMAZING show which was filled with thrilled moment within every episode I happen to enjoy a LOT. My Goodness there was so much ahead with every story line in this show…..ahhhhhhhhhh I. AM. SO. SAD! I can’t believe FOX did this to the loyal viewers of “Gang Related” show. I really hope for so MIRACLE, for another channel to pick it up and throw life at it again and for FOX to get pissed when it hit the rock bottom.
Yeah Fox… Now you have more room for stupid fake reality shows. What an insult to people that enjoy a story.
My wife and I watched it. Her dad watched it as well. All of the comments I’m reading online (not just here) are positive. I don’t get why FOX feels they have to cancel everything. When “Mob Doctor” started I wasn’t really interested, but as the season progressed I began to actually enjoy the show and care about the characters. This show I cared about the characters from the start (well, except for Carlos). I’m disappointed FOX does this yet again. Bring it back! Bad time slot and lack of marketing. Did they check the demographics on hulu and other medias? Younger viewers don’t tune in to watch TV at a scheduled time. We download, stream, and DVR…
Gang related was a great tv series. I couldn’t wait for Thursday nights. I hate to see it end, I was looking forward for the next season.I hope that another network picks them up cause this show is gonna be a hit. Great cast in show hate it that we will not be able to see them finish out this great show. Much love to the cast.
They should bring back the show – the fans love it & we don’t care what channel it’s on. Someone over there in Hollywood needs to pick this up ! I say it should go to the Oprah Network ! Help Oprah Help ! You can’t even judge the show yet – especially in summer time people are busy outdoors & on vacation. Let it run in the fall / winter . I am hoping someone comes to rescue this awesome show with some great talents on it – I am an Acosta at heart ,,,
Worst mistake Fox could make cancelling Gang Related. Such potential but no chance to show it.
Its just makes no sense they leave the crappy shows, but cancel one of the best show I would definitely watch it on another channel good bye fox I’m done with you!.

Not happy at all. With all this garbage that’s on television right now they would actually cancel an actual great tv show that was getting better and better. People expect everything to start right out the gate. There is a story , that explains what and why it’s happening. I would watch this show if another channel picked it up.
Yeah JaSon you’re right about shows not always hitting their ratings mark right out of the gate, but you know what? TV studios these days are heartless more than ever and they don’t care about little shows or little-engines-that-could fare like Gang Related.
Gang Related was a heck of a show like the recently canceled Rake, but TV fans these days are SO fickle and only concerned with Top 10 ratings fare or their cellphones or Nteflix or some other streaming services.
Like Byron Allen said, technology (i.e., computers, streaming services, and cellphones) are killing TV.
The executives at these networks must be smoking some serious crack. I am at the point of watching TV for the news and sports, that’s it. If I need a movie fix, I’d get my happy arse to Red Box and rent one. Gang Related was a very good and actually different police crime drama, not your run of the mill stuff. I agree wholeheartedly, Fantom. Well put. I think the execs are definitely smoking massive amounts of crack. They’ve axed some excellent shows and I’m sure the hammer will be coming down on even more. They always seem to leave the garbage behind, though. I loved Gang Related and grew to love it more and more every week. It was different, smartly written and had a great cast with characters I had come to actually care about.
