As expected, there won’t be a second season for Gang Related. FOX has cancelled the summer cop drama after one season of 13 episodes.
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.

The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers.
That was a poor showing right out of the gate and the ratings got even worse as the weeks progressed.
It ended up being one of FOX’s worst-performing summer series. Despite having a small but loyal audience, it was expected that the network would cancel the show.
The final episode, which aired August 14th, left plenty of things unresolved.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Gang Related was cancelled? Would you have watched a second season? Would you watch a second season on another channel?
I thought this series was great. We need session 2.
What about the 2 million viewers who did watch? I never watch fox, until that show came on.. I don’t think it should be canceled that’s absolutely ridiculous!!!
I found this show on hulu plus and netflix. It has some amazing writing, production and directing. I can only imagine that it being on FOX was the reason for its demise.
i thought the show was exciting. each episode kept you wanting more !! i looked forward to evey episode & even watch them twice. after the first season ended i have been anticipating season 2. to find out it’s canceled is a shocker. please bring the show back even if it has to be on another network !!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t think it was given a fair shot. I accidently stumbled into one episode and watched the rest on demand within 2 days I saw the whole season! I have been waiting for season 2! It’s a shame Fox is cancelling. I hope it picked up by another network!
Bitter that it got cancelled! Good show! It deserves to show it’s potential! Better time slot? And NOT in the Summer! What do you expect in the Summer when families are traveling and doing other things before school begins! Hope another network picks it up!
I am very sad they cancelled this series!
I am really disappointed that they have canceled gang related. I was waiting for season 2. I think they should give it another shot and put it on in the fall/winter instead of the summer and I bet there would be a lot more people watching. Put the show back on the air please.
I think the show never got a chance! ! It was an amazing show and very disappointed and upset that it’s not coming back for season 2!! It was the best show that has been on in a long time and I’m really going to miss it..
Gutted. Loved this show and had high hopes for a second season with a number of unanswered questions.
Please bring this show back. It is so intense and great acting. Good storyline too. Each week we could not wait for it to come on again. Best show since Prison Break. Please keep it on.
Bring season 2 I have a lot of friends talking about it and we can’t wait for season 2 and yes if we have to we will watch it on another channel
I would watch it, maybe it’s destined for Netflix. Good show good plot and good cast!
I agree wholeheartedly with Dean above. My wife and I enjoyed the show and DVR’d it every week. We were surprised at the death of Terry O’Quinn’s daugher’s character, making it an unpredictable series, one of the qualities of a series which we thoroughly approve of. Yes, if it went to cable, we’d search for it again. The premise of an undercover cop being a double agent was terrific. Though the violence could’ve been suppressed somewhat, we liked the show very much. In my mind, though, I predicted that the general public wouldn’t provide the ratings needed to be renewed.… Read more »
I thought the show was great. It had all the qualities I look for in a series and I don’t think it was given a fair shot. Each episode left me wanting more and after the season finale I was primed and ready for the next.
This show deserves another chance.
