It was a little bit of a surprise that Ghost Whisperer was cancelled by CBS earlier this week. While the show’s ratings have dropped significantly this season, many reported that the TV show was on track for season six. Well, CBS may have cancelled it but the TV show could still continue on ABC.
Ghost Whisperer follows Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a young woman who has the ability to see, talk to, and help the dead. Series regulars have included David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Jay Mohr, Aisha Tyler, Christoph Sanders, Jamie Kennedy, and Kenneth Mitchell.
With the current ratings, Ghost Whisperer wouldn’t ordinarily be of interest to ABC. However, the network co-owns the show with CBS and actually handles the production in-house. They actually developed the series before CBS picked it up back in 2005. If the price is right, ABC would stand to make more money from season six episodes once they hit syndication.

According to Deadline, negotiations for Ghost Whisperer possibly moving to ABC started on Tuesday afternoon and are still in motion. Word is that they are going well though there are a number of points to work out.
It’s positive that the showrunner for next season is already in place and producers have signed on. That means that the show is ready to go back into production. The Ghost Whisperer writing staff have all been asked not to take other jobs until a final decision is made.
For now, people are being cautiously optimistic. Deals like this have fallen apart at the last minute before but things are reportedly looking good. We’ll obviously keep you posted.

Please don’t cancel ghost whisperer. I look forward to fri-nite to watch ghost whisperer. Its the best show you ever had on tv. You’d have alot of people sad if you take off. A lot of us can’t get abc. Can you give ghostwhisperer one more chance?
Ghost Whisperer jumped the shark when Jim died , then all of a sudden the kid is like 7 years old. Doesn’t make sense, they blew it big time!
I have watched the show for 3 years and will continue to do so if it comes back. I just wish they would bring back Jay Mohr and some of the “darker” plot. The things that had to do with Melinda’s brother and the under ground of Grandview always had me glued to my seat. Aiden is cute but I would like to see more from Jim too. Jim seems like an after thought on the series now.

ABC, you have to buy out the show!!!!! I come back early every friday night just to watch Ghost Whisperer. Season 5 was a big hit to me!!!!! season 6 would be better!!!!!!!!

Please don’t cancel Ghost Whisperer. I have only started to watch it the pas couple of months or so, but I am in love with it. After my friend showed me one episode, I had to continue. I believe that I watched one full season in less than a week. I am addicted. I don’t know why season 5 has had low ratings, it is amazing. Especially by adding the shadows and the shineys. ABC please save Ghost Whisperer, I have lost several shows in my lifetime but this is a real shock. This is my absolute favorite show. I know that it will have to end sometime I don’t think that time is now. I know I am not alone in this plea. Thank you.
I just got into watching ghost whisperer and it is a very great show I love what jennifer love hewitt and david conrad. I think they are a sexy couple I don’t understand why david is not married. he is great actor and looks like a good man. I really hope that abc please pick it for season six that is a great show. I love Ghost Whisper and I know many other people do too. Please figure something out to keep this show on TV I always look forward to Friday nights and many times we have been out and I make my husband leave to be sure we catch the show even if I record it which I do. My husband even loves the show and men dont usually do that but he does. Please reinstate this show Thank you Debbie Miller

Agree with@ seeneveryep! They need to bring back Jay Mohr! I live in Jakarta, Indonesia and here Ghost Whisperer have a huge fan base, like someone mentioned earlier this is a family show, I watch it with my parents and sister, and we both enjoyed it so far. I always filled with emotion at the end of each episodes (I’m way sensitive regarding deaths he he), so please ABC pick it up!
The show took a nose dive when Jim died and “stepped into” another body! Duh. Then he was Jim again??? Where did the other guy’s body & name go? Stupid. Then flash forward to a 5 year old kid, who is a lousy actor. I’ve seen better acting in first grade plays. Used to look forward to Friday nights and Ghost Whisperer. Now I don’t. Just hope they replace it with another sci-fi.

I love this show. Remember when Dallas killed off Bobby Ewing, then the next season he was in the shower and he was back to life again? maybe you are too young for that, but maybe it’s like that!
