What are your favorite stars doing now that their shows are over? Appearing on other television shows and movies of course!
Morgan Fairchild (Friends, Falcon Crest) will be back in primetime on ABC’s Men in Trees. She’ll be playing herself and will show up in Elmo because she wants to buy the rights to Marin’s story. Unfortunately, because there’s a backlog of Trees episodes, we won’t see the Fairchild episode until February 2008!
Rachel Bilson (The OC’s Summer Roberts) will be joining NBC’s Chuck for a multi-episode arc. She’s introduced as a really sweet girl who makes incredible sandwiches. But, as she and Chuck get closer, the relationship goes downhill because he begins to suspect she’s not exactly who she claims to be.
Former Commander in Chief workmates Ever Carradine (press secretary Kelly Ludlow) and Kyle Secor (presidential husband Rod Allen) have been cast in recurring roles on ABC’s new police drama, Women’s Murder Club. On Murder Club, Carradine will play the fiancee of police Lieutenant Tom Hogan (Melrose Place’s Rob Estes). Secor will play a charismatic lawyer who has a clandestine relationship with Jill (Dead Like Me’s Laura Harris).
And speaking of The O.C. and Chief, Shannon Lucio and Matt Lanter have been cast in lead roles in a FOX pilot called The Oaks. The supernatural story will follow three different families living in the same house in three different decades and all haunted by the same spirit. Lanter and Lucio will play a 1968 couple who move into the house after losing a child. Lucio played Lindsay Gardner on The O.C. while Lanter played the President’s son Horace on Commander in Chief.
Martin Mull (Roseanne) has signed on to Family Man, a TNT dramatic pilot that stars William H. Macy as a respected dad who moonlights as the leader of a burglary ring. Mull will play Macy’s intellectual but lazy brother.
Former Charmed sister Alyssa Milano will star in Wisegal — a Lifetime movie based on the true story of a woman who becomes heavily involved with a Brooklyn crime boss.
Edward Hermann (grandfather Richard on Gilmore Girls) will guest on Grey’s Anatomy for three episodes. He’ll play “the oldest living intern.” The character was originally supposed to have a stroke and die but now it looks like he may reappear in future episodes. Stay tuned!
