NBC is not grim about Grimm. While it hasn’t yet decided whether to cancel the Grimm TV series after season five or renew it for a season six, NBC’s Entertainment Chair, Robert Greenblatt, sounds more positive than negative about the fate of this fantasy police procedural drama.
Greenblatt spoke to The Oregonian‘s Kristi Turnquist during the TCA winter press tour. As quoted below, it sounds like the Peacock Network is more fond than not of this Friday night fright-fest. Brimming with Wesen-ality, Grimm stars: David Giuntoli, Russel Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner, Silas Weir, Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Claire Coffee, and yes, Bitsie Tulloch.
From OregonLive.com (emphasis ours):
Will “Grimm” be renewed?: The ratings have been down so far in Season 5. When I asked NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt about the show’s future at the recent Television Critics Association Winter 2016 Press Tour, Greenblatt said, “We like ‘Grimm.’ It hasn’t been renewed yet, but it’s a show we love, and it’s actually a big international success for our company.” Greenblatt added, “I think ‘Grimm’ isn’t going anywhere. Which is a hedging sort of statement. We haven’t decided. But we like ‘Grimm.'”
Airing on Fridays, which is traditionally a low viewership night, especially for the advertiser-prized younger segment of viewers, “Grimm” picks up viewers via delayed viewing, Greenblatt said.
“I think the numbers have gone down a little bit because of that,” he said. “But there are some really great ideas for future shows. ‘Grimm”s OK.”
But as Greenblatt said, that’s not a confirmation of renewal, so we’ll have to wait and see.
The season 5B premiere of Grimm airs tomorrow, Friday, January 29, 2016, at 9:00pm ET/PT. Check out this article teasing Grimm‘s return, chock full of new season five photos.

I love Grimm!!! Do not cancel it please!
I love Grimm. Please do not cancel it! Monroe and Rosealee are my favorites. When are we going to see a baby for them????
Please don’t cancel Grimm!! My husband and I love this show. We also do not watch on Friday nights we record and watch it later. Hope that counts too!!! Keep Grimm on tv!!!
Please don’t cancel Grimm! My husband and I look forward to watching this every week! The hour goes too fast and leaves us wanting more!
Grimm is our favorite show. I know many people who love it. YES there should be a 6th season. I think the reason the ratings may have gone down is because just after the start of the season (this last fall) they were bumped for seasonal programming. It’s never pleasant when you guys break the rhythm. It’s nice to have a routine and know your favorite show is on a specific day and time and have it be there. I think the writers are brilliant for thinking far ahead, not just one season; everything they work for and set up… Read more »
I have always really enjoyed Grimm. It is one of the few shows I do watch in the evenings. I very much dislike reality shows…..I usually turn off the TV and
read when they are on. Always, always watch Grimm, please do not remove it from the evening TV shows.
Please don’t cancel Grimm! The show is imaginative, has smart stories, and great main characters, as well as supporting -(props to Bud and Wu!)-. And I, too, like new show Lucifer, and am also a long-time Supernatural fan.
Ps…,bring back a bit more on “zombie” Nick!
I love Grimm! Would love to see it continue to season six!!! It’s a different investigative mystery twist with unique fable characters based on the original show from Germany. It’s a show I look forward to watching every week!
Please “DO NOT” drop it after season five. It really is no different than the tv series “Once Upon a Time” with fable characters, just with a more gruesome twist. So I can’t see why people don’t like to watch it? LOVE THE SHOW! DO NOT CANCEL IT!!!PLEASE!!!
It would be such a shame to cancel Grimm, it has the potential to get better and better. People all over the world watch it because of the universal human appeal. The Grimm stories originally collected by the Grimm brothers in Germany date back hundreds of years, maybe thousands. Grimm explores this goldmine of human history in a much more authentic way than anything else on t.v. The original versions were really quite gruesome, Grimm tv series honours the original spirit of the stories. It appeals to people’s interest in the extremes of the human psyche and there are mountains… Read more »

Grimm is one of the best shows on TV, DO NOT CANCEL !! Great show.
Please Renew.
Don’t cancel Grimm! It is one of the few shows I actually like to watch. Also I would love to see where Adalind and Nick’s relationship takes them.
Don’t cancel! I love this show!
Grimm is an excellent show. A departure from all of the usual television. Entertaining and creative. The characters are like able and have depth. I don’t understand why tv execs are tracking people who watch it when it is aired. There are many of us who watch these shows on demand at another time. I hope they are tracking us.
