NBC is not grim about Grimm. While it hasn’t yet decided whether to cancel the Grimm TV series after season five or renew it for a season six, NBC’s Entertainment Chair, Robert Greenblatt, sounds more positive than negative about the fate of this fantasy police procedural drama.
Greenblatt spoke to The Oregonian‘s Kristi Turnquist during the TCA winter press tour. As quoted below, it sounds like the Peacock Network is more fond than not of this Friday night fright-fest. Brimming with Wesen-ality, Grimm stars: David Giuntoli, Russel Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner, Silas Weir, Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Claire Coffee, and yes, Bitsie Tulloch.
From OregonLive.com (emphasis ours):
Will “Grimm” be renewed?: The ratings have been down so far in Season 5. When I asked NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt about the show’s future at the recent Television Critics Association Winter 2016 Press Tour, Greenblatt said, “We like ‘Grimm.’ It hasn’t been renewed yet, but it’s a show we love, and it’s actually a big international success for our company.” Greenblatt added, “I think ‘Grimm’ isn’t going anywhere. Which is a hedging sort of statement. We haven’t decided. But we like ‘Grimm.'”
Airing on Fridays, which is traditionally a low viewership night, especially for the advertiser-prized younger segment of viewers, “Grimm” picks up viewers via delayed viewing, Greenblatt said.
“I think the numbers have gone down a little bit because of that,” he said. “But there are some really great ideas for future shows. ‘Grimm”s OK.”
But as Greenblatt said, that’s not a confirmation of renewal, so we’ll have to wait and see.
The season 5B premiere of Grimm airs tomorrow, Friday, January 29, 2016, at 9:00pm ET/PT. Check out this article teasing Grimm‘s return, chock full of new season five photos.

One of my favorite shows. If I can’t watch it on Friday night, I ALWAYS find it for later viewing..
I have already posted one comment but I don’t know I just thought what the heck, I’ll do another one. This show has everything. Family, friends, great detective work and very unique and unusual looking people. LOL***Rosales is just so nice and her husband, let’s face it guys. THE NICEST WEREWOLF YOU WILL EVER MEET!!!! What about all the other nice creatures. And Nick is the best Grimm ever.Who else out there agrees with me? *****plus there is never a dull moment on this show*********
I really hope Grimm does not get canceled. I don’t know why the show was moved to Friday. Really? Are you guys trying to sabotage it. It’s a great show. Come on people, leave it alone it’s a fantastic show. Your making a big mistake if you cut it. My home has an age group of 16 thru 27 plus me the grandmother. Just about all my grand children’s friends are over here watching it with them.
What are you talking about? It’s always been on Friday.
I LOVE Grimm, please do not cancel!!
Please give grimm a season 6
Please do not cancel Grimm. It is the highlight of my Friday. Maybe you need to promote the show better. If you change the day please notify us viewers this time
Grimm has to come back! Our favorite drama! Loved meeting “Rosalee” and want to meet the whole cast!
PLEASE DO NOT cancel Grimm!!!!! It is my favorite show and I look forward to it every Friday!!!!! 🙂
I love Grimm please don’t cancel
I love Grimm please renew
Absolutely bring it and every low rated NBC show back and then wine about why your scripted ratings stink. The show is doing a 0.91 and you already renewed Shades of Blue, which did a 1.18 with an all star cast. People want you to bring back MOL, which did a 1.12 A lot of people are watching Grimm? If they were, it wouldn’t be doing a 0.91 Give it 13 episodes to wrap it up
Grimm is the only program on TV right now that I truly love. I have watched seasons 1 through 4 at least five times (either on On Demand or on TNT) and I never get tired of it. I love all the characters! Can’t imagine not having Grimm on anymore. Season 5 so far may not seem as exciting as some of the other seasons, but it is improving week by week. Even though viewership may be down during the live broadcast of this show, you need to factor in that a lot of people will watch after the program… Read more »
Love, love, love this show and will watch always…if someone relevant to its renewal is reading this, please continue the good work by not canceling it…
Love this show hope to see more seasons
It would be a shame if this show were cancelled. It is creative and full of suspense, wit,and irony, which makes for wonderful entertainment. This is both mine and my husband’s as well as my 85 year old mothers favorite show, which means it has a wide varied audience. Cancelling this show would leave Grimm fans at a loss. Nick, Monroe, Rosalee, Juliet/Eve, Capt. Renard, Meisner, Bud, and even Adalind are folks we’ve invited into our homes and grew to love and look forward to seeing every Friday night. Please don’t cancel this show!!!!
