Grimm aired its 100th episode on NBC last week, and it has been a fight for the series to make it that far, according to David Giuntoli. He spoke about the series in an interview with The Los Angeles Times this week, and he made one shocking revelation.
Season six could be the last season for this series. NBC has not yet renewed the series though, so it could very well end with the fifth season. Fans will need to wait for news on the fate of the series.
The series’ 100th episode did answer a big question. Nick and Monroe found the treasure that was hinted at during the start of the series. They managed to uncover it on the last episode, and it had great power. It healed Monroe from an infected bite.
Giuntoli said the following about the future of the series:
“It’s very rare that an actor gets so many opportunities between “action” and “cut.” Most of your time as an actor is spent trying to get to that point, not living within those two points, and when you’re on a long-running series, you have so much time in between those two moments to actually yell “cut.” So, I’m ever grateful for all of the opportunities I get to kind of change it up — fix things, better things, tweak things. If we get a Season 6, it could very well be our last season, and it will be the first time that the writers would get to write to an ending. If we do, it’ll be a very fun ride, with major events.”
The series has been a Friday night staple for several seasons, but the ratings have seen a dip this season. Do you want a sixth season of this series? Tell us what you think.
Five seasons is simply not enough. I LOVE this show and just the thought if it gone makes me cringe. It makes my Friday nights. If Supernatural can run for 10 yrs, so can Grimm. Please NBC consider a renewal. Make mine, and a lot of other fans, day.
Please, please renew this series! We have to see this to the end!
I like weird, and grimm is the best weird I have seen in a long time. There definitely needs to be more seasons.
This is a fantastic show that I would love to see more than 5 seasons. Six, seven, eight, nine and ten would suit me just fine. I would really hate to see it go so please NBC consider a renewal
Love the show but just discovered it. Best show on television.
Only show I truly look forward to watching.
Keep it going….it’s a fun show and a great break from “reality” tv!
I love this show. Please don’t cancel it. One of the best shows on television.
I love this show and the characters are great so I would hate to see it end. It is a change from the rest of the cops and robbers or doctor shows that are on TV.
I have been a faithful viewer since the very first episode. There is no other SF/Fantasy show on quite like Grimm. I enjoy that there have always been background threads of mysteries to be tracked down (keys, etc.) as well as the weekly story. The writers do a great job creating the various wessen (sp?) and the special effects that go along with them have gotten more and more polished as time goes on. LOVE the cast, even the bad guys. PLEASE renew for another season. I’ll have withdrawal pains. 🙁
Everyone talking about Friday night ratings as not being high anyway are RIGHT! I love this show! It is different than any other and We look forward to it always. So much left to explore. SICK SICK of reality shows, competition shows, etc. If I wanted real life tension I could stay at work or just live my own life! Tension and escapism take me away to the unknown where the characters are true friends and facing creatures I can only imagine through the writers. Not the true ones I face everyday. This is my break, my relief….Please do not… Read more »
Please please please keep Grimm!!!! It’s the best show on TV!!! There are so many unanswered questions!!!! Please renew it!!!!
Please keep Grimm it’s my favorite show on Friday nights. My husband and I don’t watch much television but Grimm is a favorite since first season.
Yes!!! Season six and beyond. This show makes our Friday nights. We’ve met the cast, visited the set, attended both Doernbecher auctions- Grimm Gala- and are supportive financially and artistically – we love the show inside and out!!!
if the net work would keep consistancy with its broadcast they wouldn’t have the problem….when it is repeatedly off the air and fans start doing other things in its place they lose the viewing base.
