Case closed. Court is dismissed. Harry’s Law has been cancelled by NBC after two seasons and 34 episodes.
Harry’s Law revolves around Harriet Korn, a no-nonsense attorney who will take on just about any case as long as she believes in a person’s innocence. Over the course of two seasons, the cast has also included Nate Corddry, Karen Olivo, Justine Lupe, Mark Valley, Christopher McDonald, Brittany Snow, and Aml Ameen.
The show debuted in January 2011 to a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic with 11.07 million viewers. It was a mediocre demo rating but total viewership was impressive and when you’re NBC, that’s better than nothing. The ratings dwindled downward pretty quickly and the show ended the season with a 1.4 demo rating and 7.75 million.
The series was on the bubble for cancellation but NBC brought it back for a second season. For season two, the show underwent some cast changes, no doubt in hopes of improving the ratings. It didn’t work.

This season, Harry’s Law has averaged a meager 1.1 rating in the desirable demographic and 7.89 million viewers.
On our NBC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative success of shows on the network, Harry’s Law has a “D+” grade and is one of the lowest-rated shows on NBC.
While it’s the second most-watched show on the network, advertisers want to advertise on shows that attract a younger demographic and so the networks must cater to them.
Sadly, the peacock network has cancelled Harry’s Law this time around and the series finale will air next Sunday night. Hopefully the show won’t end on a cliffhanger, making it all the harder for fans to say goodbye.
What do you think? Are you sorry to see Harry’s Law go? Which season did you like better? What would you have liked to see happen in season three?

Please Please do not cancel the show. I love it
Oh Please! Do not cancel this show. Not Kathy Bates! Not this show when there is so much other badly done shows. Reconsider and carry on.
I don’t understand why they have to cancel a show that is fun, interesting and thought provoking unless it’s because those of us with the wits to keep up with the show don’t spend our money as fast as they kids. So a show with some good stories, great acting and relevance gets cancelled for what? I’m sure we’ll get either more inane (with sex or potty mouth) comedy, reality drivel, or violence. Why can’t the TV companies have something that appeals to ADULTS!
Harry’s Law was up against very stiff competition on Sunday night – so much so that it was difficult to choose which shows to set up on the DVR. It’s too bad that NBC’s sponsors don’t realize that it’s not the young under 30 crowd with money to spend these days—it’s the %% and older crowd who have the buying power in this recession. I will miss the very talented Kathy Bates and her caliber of acting skills. A big loss to NBC>
NO! Do not cancel this show! This is extremely well written…..and guess what….it’s not all about SEX! How can networks renew shows like 2 Broke Girls, Two and A Half Men, Whitney, ***** in Apt Whatever???? Nothing but sex jokes, innuendos terrible terrible. Give us the intelligent sitcoms. Make us think about life. Network executives, you are the idiots. Simpletons!
This really sucks. I work the third shift and there are hardly any true mind provoking shows left. I hate reality television shows. Harry’s Law is the best television series that makes you think about the issues. So I guess NBC does not care about my generation. We are not into in your face exhibition by this young lost generation that require constant stimulation. Shame on you NBC!
Best show on TV. Think I’ll just cancel NBC.
My husband and I are truly disappointed that Harry’s Law for cancelled. I agree with everyone else it is a big mistake. It is very well written, great cast and doesn’t insult our intelligence. We do not need any more mind numbing reality shows or talent shows or any other crap. The networks needs to keep the quality shows.
It is a real shame that this wonderfully acted and written show has to be cancelled. It is also the second most watched show on NBC and it get cancelled becasue the 18-49 year old demographic was not there. That is a disgrace and so predictable of NBC. The cast on this show is amazing. Kathie Bates is exceptional as is the writing. But NBC also cancelld Law and Order a few seasons ago for some idiotic reason after 20 years. This could be the reason all the hit shows are on CBS. I hope another network will pick Harry’s… Read more »
Seriously folks, baby boomers are a large group with disposable income, why listen to us. Harry’s Law deserves another chance and better exposure from NBC.
Only show we watched on NBC. Please rethink the cancellation.
My husband and I cannot believe NBC has cancelled Harry’s Law! It is one of the few shows that was worth watching. Who are making such poor decisions!!! It was well written, up to date cases and great interaction of characters ! Too bad, too bad!!! NBC should reconsider!!! PLEASE!!!! I take it that baby boomers don’t count any more to NBC! Too bad!
Young people have lots of things to do besides watching TV. Your audience is the baby-boomer generation. We like Harry’s Law and the Firm. Also liked The Voice and Smash. Don’t be so hasty in canceling good acting and content!
Noooooooooo! LOVE it…just when it is getting substance and some other no-brain-needed shows are renewed. Go figure.
You CAN’T cancel Harry’s Law!!!!! It’s a GREAT show!!! Why is it that the shows that are “different” from all the rest are the ones that get cancelled? Seems like every other show out there is either a copy of or a remake of other shows. WE NEED VARIETY!!!!!
