The scientists on Syfy‘s Helix have a tough battle ahead — not unlike a new TV show’s fight for survival. Will this series be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled due to low ratings instead? Stay tuned.
A thriller series, Helix follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to the Arctic and find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle. The cast includes Billy Campbell, Catherine Lemieux, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jordan Hayes, Kyra Zagorsky, Mark Ghanimé, Meegwun Fairbrother, and Neil Napier.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
3/28 update: The show has been renewed for a second season.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.39 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers and are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Helix TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
Love the show! Hope it is renewed.
Love this show !! I don’t normally like syfy! this one changed my mind! Keep it going!
Ive watched 3 episodes so far, interesting show but it seems like an old story retold. I agree with hal.ehrlich, it should have been a mini series
I love this show I really hope it gets renewed for a second season. Every episode so far has been exciting & full of surprises. I can’t wait to find out more about the illiara corporation & the 500. TV networks don’t give shows long enough to establish a regular audience, if it isn’t a mega hit in 3 episodes they want to cancel it. It’s ridiculous to expect a show to gather an audience over night especially if you put it in the death time slot. Please renew for many more seasons, it’s.a great show that deserves to be… Read more »
Helix is a great show. They r not zombies..they r a totally new race. They have the urge to spread the virus. I enjoy ALL of the characters and if ppl would actually stick with it they would find out the same. Have studied microbiology and much more. This could actually happen. There r things like this going on around the world. The walking g dead is a dumb show…it boring too. I hope they renew Helix. Soon much they can do with each character
I am sorry but this show should have just been a 3-4 episode mini series.
There is just not enough story to be told.
It s just an idea for a show that is j u st getting dragged out over 13 episodes.
It j u st bores me to death.
It’s a shame that this show is made by the same guy that did battlestar galactica.
please it brings so much intensity to my TV
Absolutely love the show. Would love to see a second season. I think the characters are great and want to see more of them.
Great show! My wife and I love it…hope it get’s renewed for many more seasons to come!
I absolutely love Helix. I hope they will renew for many seasons to come.
I’ve been watching Helix from the beginning, and like any new show with an outside the box idea it has had it’s ups and downs, and I’m thankful to say mostly ups in my opinion. It reminds me a little of resident evil with the virus concept but this is much more. The whole idea of immortality and this secret group is getting intriguing, I’d love to see more about the Ilaria Corp. Helix has built itself a great base storyline for it’s main characters and I hope to see it renewed!
Helix is awful. I like Billy Campbell from the 4400, but there’s a number of problems. 1) Characters are all boring. We didn’t get to know them, before they were all thrust in there. 2) It’s slow. Like really slow. Almost as bad as Homeland. There’s no real indication of progress. 3) There’s this inevitable sense that the studio paid for the set, and based on that, they’re going to shoot every episode entirely in the base. Really boring and limits the possibilities. 4) Zombies? Seriously. That’s about the point I lost interest. 5) It just has that ‘Lost’ feel… Read more »
Helix is a contrived, poorly written and produced show. A mishmash of “Resident Evil”, fast “zombie”, and any Syfy CGI-laden “original movie” they puke out. Virtually no part of it makes any sense. A corporation builds this huge super secret facility in the Arctic to avoid any government oversight, but once there’s an outbreak, their scientists call for government help (the CDC) in. Once the CDC is there, they lie and mislead and lie some more, to keep them from knowing (and thus helping to cure) what caused the outbreak. Makes no sense! Whenever they’re outside in the blowing snow,… Read more »
It does make since. Things like this r happening all over. A lot of scientists would love to work somewhere where there are no regulations.A contagion can get out at any point
I’m surprised you can’t see the genius in this show. But that’s why we have so much to choose from. Not everybody is going to like or understand the same things. I know that a lot of countries are working on virulent substances for biological warfare. This scares me more than the dirty bombs! At least as far as Helix is concerned, they present an exciting, intelligent story and I have to say, in the beginning, I was sure it was meant to annihilate the human race which is too close to reality for me. Instead, they went the pure… Read more »
I love this show. The twists and turns always bring something new and exciting. I hope they keep this going for another season because it’s way better programing than WWE or some of the other SyFy programs currently in the lineup
This is a really excellent and scary show. After all most of us will die of some disease someday. The show is well done, but will the infamous scy fy channel give it a chance for a second series? at least it won’t end like ‘the glades’ did with the lead character shot and presumed dead? we’ll never know! Or alphas, same situation? are they dead? of course they hoped for another series so that wouldn’t have been the case. but this one is more self contained. SO although I hope it comes back. If it doesn’t , we won’t… Read more »
Well said, Mike! Everybody is watching Resurrection right now which is a knock off of the truly boring French version called The Returned. By it’s own description, it says it’s not meant to be scary or sci fi at all which I think a lot of people thought it was. So opening numbers were very high. On the other hand there was the excellent, thrilling, Alpha-like show called Believe which IS truly awesome and nobody watched it. Not sure why, but check it out (and everybody else here, too) to get the numbers up. I would rather have a more… Read more »
“Helix” just keeps getting better and better. Considering this is a Friday night television show slotted into the Siberia of tv timeslots, the ratings for “Helix” are very good. Even when I can’t be home to watch, I just DVR the show. The DVR audience counts, too, SyFy! Please renew.

I was hooked immediately. I am a lawyer by profession, but was intrigued by retroviruses. Almost every episode left more questions than answers. Never knowing who to trust, because “everybody lies”. I want the twists and turns to continue. It is not the same old zombie series. Please renew it.
