Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is a former Confederate soldier who’s trying to leave his past behind. AMC is hoping that viewers won’t leave Hell on Wheels behind and the TV series will still bring solid ratings so that they won’t have to cancel it.
The current cast of this gritty drama also includes Ben Esler, Colm Meaney, Common, Dominique McElligott, Eddie Spears, Philip Burke, and Robin McLeavy.
Below are the most recent ratings for Hell on Wheels on AMC. The second season airs on Sunday nights. There are 10 episodes once again.

What do you think? Do you still like the Hell on Wheels TV series? Do you think the show should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
I love Hell on Wheels, so bring it back, please !
Just discovered this show and I love it. Want to see what happens next to the few left at the end of season two.
Please renew this show!! The scripts are better than its t00-small budget.
Nothing is as rare as a former Confederate soldier as a heroic protagonist today, you have to look back to Nick Adams as the Rebel (1959-61) to find another similar series. Anson Mount’s career is just taking off.
hope the series is renewed. the whole cast is great but i hated to see lily killed off, however the swede is a hell of an actor and he is also a hoot, my god they got that guy doing everything. great show!!!!!
Season 3 – yes!!! Bring it back!!
My husband and I love this show. It’s certainly has kept us interested. Please bring it back.
I hope this show is renewed. It is one of the most intelligent shows on television with its gritty no-holds-barred, life-is-fleeting approach, a bold look at history through the diverse people who experienced it, riveting acting, and the always-enticing flawed hero with a solid core of integrity.
Like the Ol’ West, life came cheap and losing likeable characters brings that home to the audience. I see no shortage of adventures for Mr. Bohannon; I just hope he’s around for the duration.
I LOVED this series until Lily was killed off the season 2 finale. It just jumped the shark in my mind. Why would you kill off the leading lady, especially after Colin’s wife was already murdered. Horrible writing.
I am of the opposite mindset. Had Lily lived it would have jumped the shark. The last few episodes have all been pointing towards Durrant wanting to kill Lily, for her to live and Durrant to live would have been too contrived. On top of that, this event pushes Cullen forward i na way no other event would have. More shows need to show the courage to kill off major characters honestly. Too many times there are mass causalities where all the important players live, or appear dead as the finale credits role and yet pull through at the start… Read more »
do you even know what jumping the shark even means, oh yeah thats right you can just google it !!!
Please don’t cancel. Love the crazy bloodbath, the western style drama.
In this age of 1/2 hour sit coms and “reality” garbage it’s refreshing to see a well written, original , and entertaining drama, especially of the Western genre. I never miss an episode and look forward to a 3rd season.
Love the series. One of the best on TV. Please RENEW!!! Can’t wait to see what future has in store for Cullen. Anson Mount’s acting career deserves to soar after series ends. He’s dynamite! So is Common. What a fine ensemble cast. Too bad Lily only lasted two seasons. Perhaps, if series continues, another woman will capture Cullen’s heart and survive. Give the character a break! I’m sure we all look forward to seeing the Swede, evil incarnate, getting what he deserves. Again, I vote for renewal!
I think this is a very grity look at how things really was during this time period. And this is a very well writin show, it has been a long time sence i have seen a show with this level of realazation of the old west.
Very much liked the show and characters. Never missed an episode.
Please bring this show back!!!! There hasn’t been a show this interesting in quite a while. Please bring it back!!!!
We need Season 3 and more. Please renew it…and you have to somehow bring Lily back. I’ve had enough of the Swede though. He can go.
Love the show, the wife and I just finished the episode and hope they bring it back. With some key people people dead it does make it interesting but they left themselves alot of twists and outs. The Sweed is still alive and Bohanan is the new railroad king. Alot of things can still happen.
If Hell on Wheels isn’t renewed – or even if it is – I would like to see Anson Mount in a recurring role as a scantily-clad hero on Game of Thrones.
