The CW has decided to finish the low-rated drama Hidden Palms two weeks earlier than planned. Fortunately for fans, they’ll still get to see all of the filmed episodes — at least that’s the plan right now.
Often compared to The O.C., the drama was conceived by Dawson’s Creek creator Kevin Williamson. Palms was originally scheduled to begin airing in early March but was replaced by Pussycat Dolls Present and postponed until May 30th. The drama debuted to disappointing ratings — fewer than 1.9 million watched. The second episode’s viewership dropped to just over 1.5 million.
For now, the CW still plans to air all eight episodes but, the network will burn them off as quickly as possible. Double episodes will air on both June 20th and 27th and the season finale will air on July 4th, a typically little-watched night of television. (Coincidentally, FOX is airing the final two episodes of their cancelled drama Drive on the same night.)
The network has also decided to drop the drama’s Sunday night encores effective immediately. Reruns of 7th Heaven will move to take Palms’ place at 8pm and double episodes of Reba reruns will fill in at 7pm on Sundays.
Though Hidden Palms has not been cancelled, it’s highly unlikely that the series will return for a second season. Will storylines be left unresolved by the end of the eighth episode? If the ratings fall any further, will the CW finish airing this season? Stay tuned! 
Personally i love hidden palms and i think if they would have aired it in march as said it would have had higher ratings. I also agree that the cw is really dumb and that if the two companies hadnt merrged then ratings would be better…but watev wats done is done
This show was NOTHING like the o.c.
And it was so much more exciting and better. One Tree Hill is identical to O.C .. Hidden Palms is its own.

I never even watch t.v but i alwayy make time for this show.
This show might have the same base as the OC (light musical intros while showing scenery, lots of skin and scandal, people getting way far in over their heads the day after they first meet) but I like it! It’s too bad.
I really like this show. It is one of the best new shows I have seen in a while. Give the show a chance people! The time the show started was right when things are going on with summer. That is your fault CW! Please renew!
same! evey show that i love gets cancelled..i dont get why their cancelling this i think it would be or was supposed to be a HUGE summer hit. and there should definitley defintley DEFINITLEY be a second season!

Hidden Palms is a great show. it hasnt been on that long yet before you can even get viewers. people just gettin on break and starting to watch tv. CW isnt fair, you dont give shows a chance. im through with watching CW it sucks.
I am so mad they’re getting rid of this show! I loved it! Every time I like a show they cancel it without even getting a chance! What about the people who actually enjoy the show?
Its so unbelievable that so much money is spent on getting a new show put on the air, then you wont even give it a chance to get off the ground! Hidden Palms had good writing and decent actors and I think would have eventually been a hit with teens and adults. Shame on the network for cancelling it!!
This show is the sh*t!!! i love it!! it has alot of mystery, and makes me change my mind on who killed eddie. im hooked on this like a drug!! THIS SHOW SHOULD STAY!! ESPECIALLY DURING CHRISTMAS!! I think it would make a great Series. CW is seriously driving me crazy. what ever happened to veronica mars? VIVA LA HIDDEN PALMS!! [;

Well I love this show. I don’t know why but I was addicted.. and I looked fordward to it every week. Sad? I know. But I cannot believe that there is only one for effing episode. Curse you stupid people for not watching it. If CW wouldn’t cancel the show it would really make my summer: )
HIDDEN PALMS IS A GREAT SHOW AND ADDICTING BUT, I WATCHED ALL 7 EP. SO FAR AND SOON TO BE 8. AN I THINK IT WILL BE HARD TO DO ANOTHER SEASON. 8 EP. DOESN’T EVEN SEEM TO BE CONSIDERED A WHOLE SEASON REALLY. I WISH IT WASN’T BEING CANCELED OR W/E THOUGH. AN I’D LIKE TO SAY I WATCHED THE OC AND I AGREE THAT ITS NOTHIN LIKE IT. YES IT MIGHT HAVE SOMEONE FROM THE OC AN FIRST OFF THE PREVIEWS KIND OF MADE ME THINK OF THE OC BUT, ITS NOTHIN LIKE IT.
i dont get how the network can cancel a show without giving it a real chance.. at least give it another season. its not fair to the viewers that enjoyed the show. I do not want to watch the cw anymore im tired of getting into a show and having it taken away.
