FOX has introduced several new reality shows this summer but they’ve all performed quite poorly in the ratings. Will Home Free be a different story? Will the series be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
On the Home Free TV show, nine deserving couples work to fix up a dilapidated house and must live there while it’s being fixed up. Their work is judged and one couple is eliminated each week while the others move forward in the competition. The winning couple of the season will be awarded their dream home. Professional contractor Mike Holmes is the host.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/10 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the Home Free TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I too believe that this show is a wonderful idea. I love how you have to work for what you get but you also aren’t left empty handed. I really would like to sign my boyfriend and I up. We could really use the help. I already have a child and am now about 7 months pregnant. He lost his job, with no real known cause, not long after I found out about the pregnancy and we have been struggling since then staying with my dad. Soon the small amount of space we have will not be enough. If there… Read more »
I have watched Mike Holmes on his various shows for years and have always immensely enjoyed watching. But this show jumps the shark. Terrible idea having Mike as a game show host. I stopped watching after the first episode. Get him back to what he does best on TV..finding unfortunate people who have been taken advantage of and directing his crew through the rebuild and repairs.
I have watched a variety of shows involving diy, home improvement, etc. and REALLY like Holmes on Homes but Home Free leaves me disappointed. I don’t like the way these people are expected to do things they’ve never done before and do it right. I think there needs to be more evidence of educating the contestants in their given projects. Working together with the professionals. I don’t think Mike needs to be a hardnose when the contestants fall short. I love the idea of the show but it falls short of my expectations which I am very sad to say.… Read more »
I love the show and look forward to it each week. I think it should be renewed.
I like the show but I too be live you should have found more deserving people to give homes to. I think that each one of the couples on the show could have bought their own homes. Again I like the show but next season find people that need and deserve the homes.
what people that actually work do not deserve a free home? I guess you would like to see some over weight baby making well fare case that afraid to break a sweat get a free home.
Why not they get everything else free
Totally enjoyed home free can’t wait to see what happens Wednesday night. I like how it not only gets into the couples lives but also shows their personalities how they react with each other and with the other contestants Heartwarming and exciting As well as ideas for remodels. What a nice idea a giving that happens After hard work. These are deserving people and lord knows there are so many out there that can use a break like this. Thank you for showing goodness that can happen. Is a feel good program. A TEN in my book. See you Wednesday
If the first 8 week episodes are successful and capture a large audience, then there is no surprise for next season unless the format or prize is different. Everyone will expect a home at the end.
Great way to add value to these homes in the Atlanta area.
I had high hopes for, this show but Mike Holmes’ crew does almost all the work…you see no or very little effort by the couples…touchy feely kind of show , very slow…nice for the primarily inept couples but I would rather see some single parents with kids being given free houses …most of these couples have good jobs and could afford to buy a house…much better shows in the past where the couples have to do all,the work, and have a budget…there appears to,be no budget at all…dislike show immensely .
What an amazing show! I love that this show emphasizes that good things happen when you work hard for it. I love how diverse the Cast is & Mike Holmes is amazing! I can’t wait to see what happends next week!
The most amazing show ever! You have done something no other show has ever done. You have made winners out of everyone and allowed contestants to challenge themselves yet in the end appreciate their hard work. This is an incredible thing you have given the viewers to be a part of..thank you for your kindness and generosity you have shared. Please do not cancel this show for you are the real deal because you handed no one anything but they earned it..what a kind heart you have and a real super hero you are!
Wish I could have had Mike Holmes to help when raising house full of kids alone. I spent so much time working to provide, I could not keep up everything needed in my modest “money pit.” I learned how to do everything – plumbing, wiring, floors, ceilings, walls, and more. Still trying to finish. Never ending. I love the show and am happy that it is on prime time network. Please renew.
Love Mr Holmes. Good pick for show. He wants it done right. Loved what this show is about. It shows work and design. Lucky families that receive these homes.
This is a awesome show and the should continue to do the great things they do. I would love to be on this show the show is a inspiration to me and others.
We like any program with Mike Holmes. He does great work and doesn’t rip people off. He shows you different ways to do things, that you can use yourself.
Home Free is a wonderfully, inspiring show. I would love to learn how to sign up for my husband and I to be contestants on any future seasons. I have been working as a waitress for over 30 years and I have had 3 surgeries on my feet so far and am up for another soon. My husband and I have cleaned up our credit and would love to own a new home, but aren’t sure if I can keep working. We are both very hard workers!
