All good things must come to an end. Nickelodeon has announced that iCarly is ending after five seasons but there’s a big finish in the works.
Starring Drake & Josh’s Miranda Cosgrove, iCarly follows teenager Carly Shay as she creates a successful web series with the help of her best friends, Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie (Nathan Kress). Noah Munck is another good friend, Gibby, and Jerry Trainor plays Spencer, Carly’s older brother and legal guardian.
We suspected that the show might be getting ready to end when iCarly was renewed for a fifth season in April 2011. Though iCarly is one of the most popular shows on cable, the series was renewed for just 13 episodes. Like all shows about teens growing up, the actors eventually start to outgrow their roles and it’s time to move on.

Cosgrove plans to attend USC in the fall. McCurdy will star in another Dan Schneider series and Munck has a new pilot, both with Nickelodeon. The cable channel has also ordered a new series called Wendell & Vinnie in which Trainor will play a goofball uncle to a conservative 12-year-old.
To end the iCarly series, the cast and crew will film a special sometime next month and Nickelodeon plans to will air in November.
Of the show ending, Schneider told TV Guide, “Everyone at iCarly has been like family to me for five years… When we film our very last scene, there will be a lot of crying, I know. But I also know that in television, you don’t want to over-stay your welcome. I want to go out the way we are — on a creative high-note.”
Though there won’t be any new episodes after November’s finale, iCarly will continue to air on Nickelodeon in reruns.

please dont end icarly i really love that show dont ended its been in my life since 6 years and the show i like is gone that show inspired me but now its ending, so all the fans of icarly fans who wants to save icarly and plese dont end the show (tears)

OMG! NOOOOOOO! I don’t want iCarly to end! This is so sad, I remember when the Hannah Montana Series ended. My sister and I both were in tears, we don’t want it to end!

I’m Going To Miss ICarly I Watched It Sense 2007 & I would like to see them return someday & I am glad that Jennette & Noah & Jerry Will Be Still With Nickelodeon On New Shows With Nick Whenever that will be. So I’m sorry to see ICarly Go Darn That Miranda For growing up!!!!!!!!!!! Well We all have grow up someday & She has a right to go to College!!!!!!!
Thank you to the cast and crew for all of the many years I have watched this show. I have watched this since the beginning, and will watch in syndication. Six seasons is a great amount of time, though.

My kids will miss this show. But unlike so many other ending programs this year, at least this one has a reason to be going off the air. I love that the actors/actresses on the show have lives beyond being child stars, and that they have people in their lives who have not only taught them well, but who inspire them to do something more with their lives besides just wallowing in their child-stardom. Wouldn’t it be great to go to college like Cosgrove, and know that you won’t ever have to work again, so you can just enjoy studying a major you like.
The smart child stars go to college and prepare to do something with the rest of their lives, that way when the business managers have stolen all their $$, they have a way to do something else productive with their lives. 🙂 And if I am not mistaken, the producer of this show was a child star (the chubby kid) from Head of the Class. So we might see some of them behind the camera in the future, even if they are done being in front of it. But I do agree, at least for now they have more choices… Read more »
