Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
renewed please
Just seen all of series one on sky to find out no series two. What a disappointment! Great concept, characters and effective buildup of over-arching plot and themes. Short term vision whoever made that decision! Shame!
It was a very good series. It’s innovative, why cancel it u dumbfucks. It is just not America that watches TV Series, the rest of the world too. Think about it.
OOOF! So much trash on TV and they cancel something interesting with a lot of promising plot lines, with both internal and external intrigue. I was really looking forward to the next season. I do agree with the reference to firefly and Dresden files. Such a shame.
Completed Season 1 in just a week and was looking for Season 2 when I learnt that it has been cancelled. C’mon this was a good series why cancel it????
Really enjoyed the series and only to find out it had been canceled. go figure…wouldve been great with a second season.
I thought it was a really good series and cant figure out why they cancelled it. It was enjoyable to watch, catchy with characters that are engaging and that are relatable to. They could have had some really interesting story lines with this along the lines of 24 meets the blacklist. Given up to soon. Epic fail ABC again stop cancelling good shows try advertising them more so people know about them when they initially air.
There should be a season 2, it was exciting and compulsive viewing.
Please please get season 2 made.
Bring Intelligence back!
Just caught the first 13 episodes on sky on demand.
Really enjoyed the concept and character development. I think it needed a full 20 plus episode second season to build a loyal audience. Another cult one season series like firefly and the Dresden files. I guess unless you have vampires and ravaged virgins or blood thirsty killing scenes you are not going to have a hit.
Seems abc haven’t learnt from breaking bad. Sometimes it takes people a while to get into a series. The end of the second series set things up very well for a second series and plot lines then would have been very interesting in my eyes.
Just watched the full 13 episodes of season 1 and was checking to see when season 2 would be comming out, to my shock have found out that it has been cancelled after 1 season. Really CBS wake up and make more its one of the best i have seen in a while!!!!
They should not cancel the series. I enjoyed watching it every week. It’s something interesting that acknowledge viewers about latest technologies. i would highly recommend them to continue the series, please. Thank you.
Brilliant idea , unfortunately something was missing but they shouldn’t have up on it . Really enjoyed it
They were idiots not to make the second series
