Long-running syndicated court show Judge Alex has been cancelled. The cancellation was confirmed by Stephen Brown, executive VP of programming and development for the Fox Television Stations.
“We would like to thank Alex Ferrer as well as executive producer Kathy Sapp and the entire staff for producing a strong daytime court program,” said Brown in a statement. “Alex’s extensive police, legal and judicial experience combined with his great sense of humor made for compelling daytime television for nearly 10 years.”
Judge Alex debuted on September 12, 2005 and features cases that are presided over by Judge Alex E. Ferrer, a former police officer, lawyer, and Florida judge.
The series is the lowest-rated of the five remaining court shows and will continue airing original episodes through August.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Ferrer said, “It was not my decision to end the show. I enjoyed doing the show and would keep doing it but, for many reasons, the company that produces the show wanted to move on. I am grateful that I was able to work with really amazing people like my EP Kathy Sapp and Associate EP’s Tera Roberson and James Glover; Directors Eddie October, Michael Dimitch and Art Bergel; Bailiffs Mason Burroughs & Victor Simon, my makeup, hair and wardrobe help that changed me from hideous to tolerable; incredible producers and associate producers who found great cases for me to try and so many others in our 100 person staff and crew who made the show a success. I’m also grateful to have so many great fans and friends, many of whom I got to meet; and I’m sure that I’ll still get to meet more of you at other events.”
He also hinted that he may return to television at some point in the future.

Was big fan of Judge Alex, it’s disheartening that other shows are still on the air who are not as fair and as compassionate as Judge Alex. I always felt that if I ever had to appear before a Judge, Judge Alex would be my first choice.
This was by far the best of the court based TV shows. Should not have been pulled. Send Judge Judy to the trash bin.
I loved Judge Alex’s show. Best of the Judge shows. He was always fair. Unlike some he never screamed at people or insulted anyone or constantly reminded people how smart he is. I sincerely wish he would return.
I liked his show the best of all the “court” tv shows. He was fair and reasonable, unlike some, (Judge Judy comes to mind). I hope they reconsider and renew the show.
i had a friend on one of his episodes and i cant find it on the internet can anyone tell me where i can purchase the full series of all the seasons and all the episodes of judge alex

We all agree with you. In an earlier tweet, someone said that Judge Alex is suppose to come back in September 2016. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is true.
I am so upset over the cancellation!!!!! You were my favorite judge show!!!! There are some really bland ones on- not the same w/out Judge Alex…..Miss you and your humor!
I watched Judge Alex because he was very fair and never made fun of anyone. He showed patience, natural good humor, and made each case very interesting. I was shocked to hear that his show was canceled. The people who made that decision should have asked the viewers their input. It was so wonderful to see an intelligent as well as a gentleman on television. Please consider asking him to return. As I grow older, it seems that the better shows are canceled. What a disappointment for a loyal audience!

I also saw Judge Alex on Wendy Williams show where she said that Judge Alex would be back on air in the Fall. Yeah!
I believe that Judge Alex’s show was cancelled because another Judge knew that his ratings would eventually become number 1. That person has enough money to call the shots. Judge Alex was the best! Can I get a witness?

I just saw Judge Alex on The Wendy Show and was so upset bc i found out after googling WHAT HAPPENED to his show and found that FOX had cancelled him. He was one of my TOP 3, Judge Millian-People’s Court and Judge Mathis being the other two. I do not watch Judge Judy mostly bc time. I realllllly miss him and hope you will reconsider!! Pls
