Following on the heels of last week’s cancellations of the Happy Hour sitcom and The Rich List game show, FOX has announced that another of its new shows is leaving the air.
Justice debuted on Wednesday, August 30th to high expectations. The network had been showing fast-paced promos of the Victor Garber series all summer long but it still failed to attract big numbers. The highly anticipated premiere was watched by only 8.6 million viewers.
Justice followed a diverse group of lawyers as they worked at a prestigious Los Angeles law firm. Each episode started at the beginning of a trial and followed it through until the verdict. Then viewers were shown, via flashbacks, what actually happened at the time of the crime.
Like many FOX series, Justice took a break during the World Series (after five episodes). When it returned, FOX began airing it on Monday nights, opposite NBC’s popular Heroes and replacing Vanished (which was moved to Friday nights). Three episodes have aired on Monday nights. The most recent episode drew only 4.2 million households, about half of lead-in Prison Break’s audience.
With that in mind, its no surprise that FOX has announced that the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced courtroom drama has been pulled from the schedule effective immediately. The network isn’t calling it a cancellation right now. The FOX website lists that the show will return on December 11th, but the word is that it will not return for very long or at all.
Eight episodes of Justice have aired thus far and production is expected continue on the rest of the 13 episodes of FOX’s order. There is no word as yet if the series or any individual episodes will be released on DVD or online via FOX’s website.
11/17/06 UPDATE: FOX has officially cancelled Vanished and Justice will instead return on Friday, December 1st. No new word on how long it will continue to air. 
OK so really, FOX canceled JUSTICE! First off it’s Bruckheimer… does anything more need to be said. OK I’ll say more.. the show was GREAT ! I loved watching the makings of the defense, and wondering if in actuality their client would be guilty. The flashbacks at the end were awesome, the acting was awesome, the storylines awesome! and FOX gets RID of the SHOW, someone on FOX needs to be gotten rid of!.. someone needs to come up with a time slot where this show can fit in and get these actors back on the SET PRONTO!
I cant believe you people could cancel a show like JUSTICE , I would rank it up there with CSI these are both AWESOME shows . Give it a chance put it back on like Wednesdays at 8PM it would do great in that time slot . If not there is absolutely nothing worth watching on the Fox network and I know alot of people will agree with me.
My co-workers and I looked forward to Justice every week & cannot believe that such a GREAT show would be cancelled. I highly suggest that you consider putting it back on the air. At this point you have A LOT of disappointed viewers!!!
I can’t believe Justice is gone. I have been looking for it for a few weeks now and am just finding out it is cancelled. I LOVED that show. The changes in day and time made it difficult to keep up with when it was on. I am really disappointed it got cancelled. In my opinion it was the freshest and most original new series on this year and the best new law drama. Big disappointment from fox!!
I am very disappointed that Justice was cancelled. Any show will suffer when the time is changed 3 times. Maybe another network will consider picking up the show. It was by far my favorite new show of the season.
Justice was a jewel in a pile of Fox trash. Why don’t they give the good ones time to gather an audience? (Interrupting for a month for the Baseball doesn’t help). BRING IT BACK.

I am truly disappointed you have cancelled JUSTICE!!!! It is a great new drama. Stop switching its time slot so that people can find it easily. Other shows have had many rate droppings, but they keepcoming back year after year. Reality tv after reality tv!!!!
I can’t even believe Fox would cancel Justice. I’m so upset. It was one of the greatest shows on TV now. Every single was episode was phenominal!! Unbelievable. What is wrong with FOX?
I loved Justice!!!! Best show in a long time. I even marked the calendar for the nights it was on. A consistent schedule for the show would have helped it be successful. Why do networks change a show’s scheduled night? Time after time shows that changing nights and time is why a show doesn’t do weel.
For me to watch a show and get hook on it is not easy, but Justice did just that. I really love that show and miss it a lot, I know that many of my friends also miss it, so please bring it back to the air FOX. This was the only show beside 24 worth watching in the network, so I don’t get why it was cancelled.
“Justice” was the only Fox program that I watched. Guess it’s time to petition my cable company to remove the now rather worthless “Fox” channel.
HOW DUMB CAN FOX BE?? JUSTICE is one of the best shows FOX ever put on air. If they keep it on the same night then people wouldn’t have a hard time finding it and ratings would go up. BRING IT BACK OR LOSE A LOT OF VIEWERS!!!

You could have run it head to head with Law and Order on Fridays and I would have picked Justice. Give this show a real chance, in a steady time slot. It will pay off.
Remember 24 had low ratings it’s first season, I think it’s safe to say it turned out ok.
