Despite modest ratings, back in September of 2016 — one day ahead of its season two finale — Syfy renewed its Killjoys TV show for season three. As a co-production with Canada’s Space TV channel, Killjoys performed strongly enough to keep paying its rent, south of the 49th parallel. How will it do in its third season? Will Killjoys be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned.
A Syfy science fiction drama, Killjoys stars Aaron Ashmore, Luke Macfarlane, and Hannah John-Kamen star. Dutch (John-Kamen), Johnny (Ashmore), and D’avin (Macfarland) are fun-loving, hard living interplanetary bounty hunters. They are sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants across the Quad — a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. In season three, they change their motto from The Warrant is All, to The War is All.
War is now brewing in the J Star System. After suffering personal loss, Dutch, Johnny, and D’avin steel themselves for encroaching threats. As the trio works to assemble an army, a perilous force – the disturbed daughter of Dutch’s late mentor Khlyen, and Dutch doppelganger, Aneela – is gunning for them.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Do you still like the Killjoys TV series? Should this Syfy TV show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
9/1/17 update: Syfy has renewed Killjoys for seasons four and five but, the fifth season will be the end. Details here.
Killjoys Sucks!! SyFy made a Huge Mistake in canceling Dark Matter!! It was a Much better show! It had interesting characters, Killjoys does not. I honestly tried to watch it, but couldn’t get past the first half of the first season. BORING!!
The live average ratings for this show went down 0.01. However, the show was renewed for 2 final seasons. The bad news for SYFY is that THE MAGICIANS is the only show whose live average ratings went up from last season to this season. Every other show dropped. The good news for SYFY: FAILURE is OKAY at SYFY, so nobody will get fired.
Killjoys has been RENEWED for a 4th and 5th season and will then end. Good news for the fans. Dark Matter has been CANCELLED!
Killjoys has been RENEWED for 2 final seasons. Good news for the fans. Dark Matter has been CANCELLED!
How do these ratings with with services such as Amazon Prime? I watched seasons 1 & 2 for free but have not bought season three yet. Do they track people watching any season of the show or just the current season when deciding to renew?
Amazon Prime DOES NOT release ratings for shows as of this time. They usually track what the most recent season is like. They also take into account if someone is willing to purchase seasons of the show. If Netflix or say, amazon Prime, is willing to purchase another season of the show, that gets taken into account. No matter how pathetic the ratings, it is always about the money.
Friday was its highest ratings thus far. It is certainly looking better for renewal.
everyone tell every single person u know 2 watch dark matter, kiljoys, & wynonna earp, especialy dark matter. tweet it, post it, tell everyone at school, at work, at chrch, tell random people on the street, shout it from the rooftops. Basically, anything u do, get the word out on these 3 great shows. ESPECIALLY DARK MATTER!!!!!
i blame it on the short seasons, lack of character development, and syfy’s inability to commit to a franchise. until they do that they will never return to viewership levels like eureka sg1 and farscape had.
After 4 episodes with a live average of a 0.16, renewal chances look pretty good. Considering SYFY just renewed Wynonna Earp with a live average of 0.12 and last Friday’s episode did a 0.10, renewal chances should be even better.
