TVGuide is reporting that NBC has unceremoniously cancelled Las Vegas after five seasons on the air.
Las Vegas debuted on September 22, 2003 and was touted as actor James Caan’s first series regular role on television. The Academy Award-nominated actor was cast as the Montecito casino’s Head of Security, ‘Big Ed’ Deline. Others in the cast have included Nikki Cox, Josh Duhamel, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Marsha Thomason.
Caan left the series last year to return to his movie career and Cox was cut from the show in a cost-cutting move. Caan was replaced by Tom Selleck and it was hoped that the addition of the veteran TV actor would help revitalize the series. It didn’t and, coupled with the series’ move to Friday nights, the ratings dropped significantly.
Last year, Las Vegas was one of the earliest NBC shows to get a renewal notice. What a difference a year can make.
NBC has opted not to renew Las Vegas for season six. Unlike Friday Night Lights, Vegas apparently doesn’t warrant shopping to other possible outlets and fans of the series are left with a cliffhanger. The last two episodes aired last Friday and was first in the ratings for both hours, Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, it was likely the last time we’ll see the staff of the Montecito. Stay tuned!
deem, this just sucks balls….i really enjoy this show and i hate NBC from this moment for ending Las Vegas!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously!?! I LOVE this show i have been watching it forever and was hoping that this whole “oh we’re cancelling the show thing” is just a publicity stunt because if its not i will be so furious i will go out of my way to never watch another NBC produced anything EVER again… You guys suck you know that…you hardly ever advertise for any of your shows…and when you do you shove commercials down peoples throats for months and then when there isn’t enough of a pickup in the audience in the first two episodes you drop it…and now you… Read more »
I have missed a few episodes here and there over the years of Las Vegas, mostly due to my being at school. Now that I have a big enough break I have been watching the re-runs to catch up on all the action. A lot of people at my school are now hooked onto this show. It’s a shame that stupid new shows as well as STUPID older shows are still running. People who are IMMATURE are the ONES who are RULING the TV ANYMORE. Las Vegas would be a great show to add to the line up on a… Read more »
There are so many GARBAGE shows on tv that keep going and going ……..Las Vegas is entertaining on so many levels. Who are the idiots who decided to stop this show and yet you can still see the simpsons! The last show said “to be continued”. To leave it like that is insulting to loyal fans who have watched every episode. Shame on you!
How can you leave it like this!!! I love this show! NBC PUT IT BACK ON!!! You can’t leave the show with a cliffhanger like that!
Is Delindas baby ok, is sam going to actually marry the brother!! and so much more. Please think about it, this show rocks!!!
The Save Las Vegas Campaign: Operation Baby Booty
The heart of the campaign consists of sending as many boxes of baby socks as you can to Ben Silverman, the head of NBC (his address is listed below.) That’s the goal of the campaign – to get Vegas a real ending.”

I agree with all but instead of posting on here. Send mail to NBC so your voices and opinions can be heard. Wasted effort here
I cannot belive they cancelled the show in such a way! It looks like they need to bring it back and keep going! I would definitely watch it all of the time. So would many other people that I know. What can we do to get it back? We love Las Vegas and this keeps it in the forefront watching each week
bring back las vegas – besides moonlighting best show on TV
What the hell I need to know what happened to delinda and what is wrong with the baby gawd how could ratings have dropped when everyone I know has watched every episode since the show began screw NBC yall equal suck and that all you are good for is sucking up the network
Wow, what a pathetic way to end a 5 year series. The previews mentioned stamp theives that I never saw and then the to be continued lie at the end. I will avoid NBC at all costs from now on.
How can I cancel a NBC Excecutive???? I would love to fire all of them…The are not very smart….
THIS IS BULLSHYT!!! it disgusts me that they would seriously cancel without completing the season…or atleast the continued episode, i was loving where mike and pipers relationship was going..i was enjoying that crazy chinese lady being in more episodes she cracked me up, cooper was the best owner so far. woulda been nice to see wher it was going, thx for another **** block nbc. I will make sure i never watch a new series you ever come up with knowing that if u need to cancel it you will do it stat without giving a **** about your veiwers!
Just found out about cancellation, never post on Internet, but thought I would due NBC lack of caring for people who watch their shows. I say no one watch NBC and post as much as possible, maybe the money makers will see that people matter. I watch a lot of series on all channels. SiFI when they cancel series the make 2-hour movies probably out of greed but maybe for respect of the viewers.
What can we do to bring this back for one more season?
