NBC has a new cop drama in the works. Deadline reports the network has committed to a new pilot titled The Last Policeman.

The project is based on the sci-fi novel by Ben H. Winters, which “follows a detective in New Hampshire during the final years of civilization as a catastrophe-level asteroid hurtles toward the planet.”

Winters is set to write the TV series adaptation and executive produce alongside Neal Mortiz and Pavun Shetty.
