What’s This TV Show About?
A fantasy drama series on the HBO premium channel, The Leftovers stars Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka. An adaptation of the Tom Perrotta novel, this TV series explores what happens when 2% of the world’s population inexplicably vanishes. In the third and final season, the Garvey and Murphy families come together as they seek reasons for that which defies explanation. It feels like something big is coming — a bookend to the “Sudden Departure” that rocked the world and brings their journey Down Under.

Telly’s Take
When HBO renewed The Leftovers TV show for a third season, they made it clear it would be the last. In addition, creator Damon Lindelof has been adamant he’s not looking for a renewal or a spin-off. So why am I still keeping an eye on the ratings and updating this page from time to time? It’s the television vulture’s equivalent of reading Yelp restaurant reviews. It’s fun and whets my appetite. Besides, it provides context when I’m assessing the odds that HBO will cancel or renew its other TV shows. Also, despite Lindelof’s protestations, should ratings for the third season of The Leftovers hit the stratosphere, HBO would make a renewal or spin-off happen. What do you think? Is The Leftovers TV show ending at the right time? Should HBO have renewed this TV show for season four, instead?
Renew for sure great show please have a season 4&5 at lease thank you
I think the ending was perfect, and I don’t see another season after this. In spite of all the weirdness and symbolism in the plotline, which I didn’t always understand, Nora and Kevin find each other again after many years. He realizes that he never should have let her go, and she realizes that life can still go on and that her kids don’t need her. (Besides, they were brats.) Why he lied to her at first when he found her, I don’t quite get. The theme of resurrection, body and soul, is strong. I liked the acting, and the… Read more »

Im hooked , why pray tell do they always seem to cancel the best. 1 more season to tie it all together, or are you going to just depart and leave fans wondering as to what happened. Or is that the plan… if I’d known this I’d of read the novel instead, guess I’m off to the library… damn you to hell.
If they do it right, 3 seasons is enough. But I won’t lie, the show is soo so good, I would like one more season
