What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lethal Weapon stars Damon Wayans, Clayne Crawford, Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney, and Michelle Mitchenor. The comedic buddy cop action drama centers on two very different cops working together on the streets of Los Angeles. While family man Roger Murtaugh (Wayans) has everything to live for, is there nothing Martin Riggs (Crawford) won’t sacrifice to avenge the loss of his own family? In season two, Murtaugh tries to support Riggs, while still keeping his own family in mind and trying to avoid the chaos his partner seems to seek.
Season One Ratings
The second season of Lethal Weapon averaged a 0.99 rating in the 18-49 viewer demographic and 4.11 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 37% in the demo and down by 37% in viewers. Learn how Lethal Weapon stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will FOX cancel or renew Lethal Weapon for season three? The ratings are way down when compared to the first season’s numbers, likely because the series was moved to a new night and away from the network’s top-rated Empire series. For now, I think it will land a renewal, mostly because FOX has lots of other lower-rated shows. However, there have reportedly been some issues with Crawford so that could scuttle the renewal. I love the show and can’t wait to see the new season. All that craziness of Riggs was getting kinda tiring. I like the new guy that they are replacing Crawford with. I love Damon.
The story line is based on a movie which was about a former special ops guy becoming a cop so if Riggs is gone how can you keep the story going with no special ops guy in it? So now the name is wrong no special ops guy no lethal weapon in the show so whats it called now cops? oh wait that show already exists. lol What a joke!
No Riggs no lethal weapon for me & the fans in Croatia
From a French Fan : I will not watch this show if Clayne cawford is out. Lethal Weapon without him sounds like Magnum without Tom Selleck. I have to stay polite so shame on you producers. Hope this show will die. Sorry for Sean but Clayne is not replacable
Riggs is the star. They turned Murtaugh into an idiot. Nothing like the movie. I dont think anyone in charge saw the movie.
One look at the new guy and I knew I would not watch.
Without Riggs I won’t watch the show. The dynamic between Murtaugh and Riggs is what made the show. Not to mention Riggs and his crazy what will he do next antics! Just can t change one of the 2 stars of the show and pretend nothing has changed. What do they think we won’t notice!!

Clayne Crawford IS Martin Riggs for this TV adaptation, as much as Damon Wayons is Roger Murtaugh. Neither character is “true” to the movie characters, but their chemistry, and individual character portrayals are TV brilliance! I think the show will suffer poor ratings without Clayne Crawford as Riggs. Best to save the money, avoid the embarrassment and let the show die, along with Riggs. No way that chemistry can be rebuilt, especially out of a character the viewers have already been groomed to hate. If Riggs MUST die, then so should the show. I totally agree. I must admit I have a crush on Riggs, and cried when he got shot. I was babbling to my husband “he can’t die, he can’t die…”. And I too have stopped watching other programs because of character changes.

might as well cancel it because without Riggs, there is no show. I don’t care what he did to deserve to be fired, unless it was murder or rape he needed to remain on the show. Lost me as a viewer next year.
Clearly Riggs is gonna survive. They showed him getting shot, but they did not show him dying.

Lethal Weapon was one of the few Prime Time Series I watch. The dynamic between Damon Wayans and Clayne made the show awesome. I am beyond dissappointed that whatever inset issues existed could not be worked out. Possibly Clayne Crawfor really is that big of a problem, maybe not. In any case, yet another reason to stick with Netflix, Amazon, HBO and Showtime. The death of Prime Time series TV is upon us. Too bad the networks, the insanely expensive cable channels and the actors have not figured it out.
Claude made a great Riggs which I think is hard to do after Mel Gibson. The actor replacing him doesn’t have the right look at all. I would have wanted the show cancelled than put someone else than appears to look disappointing. I’m not eager to watch season 3. Big shame!!
