Based on the “Walt Longmire” mystery novels by Craig Johnson, Longmire has been a very successful TV series for A&E in the ratings. Will that trend continue? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned!
Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/28 update: Longmire has been cancelled by A&E after three seasons. However…
11/19 update: Netflix has picked up the series for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Longmire attracted a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.7 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers and are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
LOMGMIRE CANCELLED
Longmire is one of the best series to come along. Quality scripts and acting. Whoever cancelled made a big mistake.
Longmire is a truly interesting show. I so look forward to seeing it every season. I would be very disappointed if the how was canceled.
I am so hooked on this show I can’t believe A&E would ever let it go.. The only two show I watch on their channel are Longmire and Duck Dynasty. I don’t think it is the series that is failing. I think it is the network for not wanting to keep anything good. So long A & E.
Longmire is being shopped to other networks. One of them will be smart enough to pick up Longmire. A&E is suffering a huge PR disaster for canceling their highest rated scripted series. Everyone I know only watched A&E to watch Longmire so all of us will not be watching A&E at all in the future. Let’s see how A&E does going forward after losing millions of viewers.
I never been so disappointed I a network then I am I A & E…
They cancel a interesting, well written, well acted show like “Longmire” and promote stupid reality..I am with you and I hope an overwhelming many more A & E is off my watch channel list..
Longmire is my favorite TV show and a refreshing break from some of the other junk on TV.
My girlfriend and I love this show! Maybe someone can convince the Execs at AMC to pick Longmire up.
Great Job A&E,
You suck us into a great series, with quality writing and wonderful characters and you pull the series. This is bad news and our family will boycott your channel. Too bad, hope another channel picks this up.
Just when a new series begins, the network takes it down. Longmire is exciting and gives a sense of the old west. It should continue, listen, Longmire need to be renewed.
Advertise it more and numbers will be up…just like “Breaking Bad” did.!!
longmire has been the best show I have seen in years and I can’t believe you have cancelled it. Unbelievable.
RENEW!! I think it’s one of the better shows on tv. I’m really disappointed that alot of the shows i watch and think are good get cancelled. If this trend keeps up, i’ll just cancel my satelite service.
Please renew, get it sold to another channel, something. Fantastic stories and characters. Well produced with wonderful actors. Save this show!
A&E must be owned by CBS, they cancel some great shows before they ever have a chance to develop. Lingerie d should stay….
Longmire should stay
Longmire is my favorite show. A&E , I bet you cancel Hell on Wheels next. Seems like if I like it you cancel it.
Well that just figures.
It also will keep me from ever starting to watch another series on A&E.
I hope it gets picked up,and makes some other network a TON of money. This show has loyal fans, which I guess means nothing to networks anymore.
Well,I know it means nothing anymore. And A&E,which used to mean quality shows, means nothing to me anymore.
