TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
So frustrated!!!! Another great show gone while mind numbing “reality” shows continue!!!
Loved the show, imagine my suprise when they cancelled it, A&E should be ashamed of them selves, clearly they are happier with the red neck pigs and their duck flutes, really?
A&E are light years away from their initial format of “ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT”.
This is such a good show, NO they should NOT have cancelled it. I hope it finds a new home. So sick of good shows being cancelled and I’m sure it’s because there’s not considered enough smutt. If it was A&E’s number one show, why did they cancel? How ridiculous!
I will not watch A&E if Longmire is not renewed! I have spoken to numerous fans across this country who feel the same as I do. Are the execs at A&E willing to jeopridize all of the programs?
WHAT ????? WHY would you cancel such a great show ??? The BEST show you had going !!! Can’t stand dick dynasty or wall bangers ! Finally get something I like and you cancel it !!
Don’t understand what the attraction to this show was? I watched a few episodes but it could not hold my attention. Too many shows like this already on. Tired of all of the new series coming out with the same stories, nothing actually new about any of them. I would rather watch some of the reality shows because at least each episode has something new (talking mostly about shows such as Face Off and ones along this manner as each new episode has something new).
This is heart-breaking news. The studio honchos should be ashamed of themselves. Longmire was one of the jewels of scripted programs on the air. They keep the schlock like Duck Dynasty; that they protect, but forget about quality programming. Why is there such a tendency to cater to the lowest common denominator in this country?? Pathetic, really, really sad.
my wife and i really enjoyed this show! how can we be left with a cliff-hanger and not know what happened! all of these reality shows survive ,but get one non-stop action and who done it and it gets cancelled! never understand who makes these decisions and why no one asks the viewers opinions! another great show gives way to some silly reality show that personally insults a lot of peoples intelligence! how i long for the old western days where you sat glued to the black and white set watching your favorite western heroes! kids today don’t know how… Read more »
I was a loyal fan of the show and have watch every episode sence the one can’t understand why you would cancel it
This is one of the best series with a great cast, along with Justified, Banshee, The Bridge.
It’s all but making money not quality entertainment.
Heartbroken about the Longmire cancellation. This was a quality show with fine acting and good stories. Loved all the characters. Really hope another network picks up this show. Add me to the list of never watching A&E again.
WTH, such a good show. Why not take off Duck Dynasty? A & E you suck
One of the best shows on TV right now! This last season was excellent! A&E you disappoint! I hope & pray someone else picks up this show!
I think it sucks it was one of our favorite shows I just hope another station will pick it up keeping my fingers crossed . I would just like to know why these tv stations take all the good shows and replace them with stupid shows .
This is one more example of the idiotic laziness of the “entertainment” industry these days. They are only interested in making a crap load of money with the least possible amount of effort. They don’t really care about quality entertainment, only about programming to the lowest common denominator with moronic reality shows. Another network gone to the dark side. What a shame.
