TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Best show on TV ! Bring it back please.
I am so unhappy! This show was worth waiting for each week. I even taped the episodes to watch again and bought the first mystery. There are so many really dumb shows on that have no meaning. This one showed the relationship with the Indians and had a real hero in Walt Longmire…. Bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most people think it is just the end of the 3rd series….. Wait until everyone understands it was canceled, you will hear more people upset.
One of the best shows on TV. From sets to setting to acting to plot- excellence. It akin to Justified, a PG version, if you will. Can’t believe the networks leave loyal fans with such a cliffhanger. Not very kind.
Please, please bring the show back !! Longmire is one of the most entertaining shows on television. It is extremely well written, it has great actors. Who could have possibly wanted to cancel this show ??? It is awesome. Please bring it back.
I want it BACK!!! A&E doesn’t have that many quality drama series that they can afford to lose this one. They have lots of the reality type shows- storage wars, duck dynasty- but they need to expand into more artistic shows. Otherwise they need to change the name of the network!! What are their goals. (I also hated it when they canceled Nero Wolfe)
Bring Longmire back please!
Longmire was one of the most entertaining shows on TV. Please bring it back.
One of the few shows on TV worth watching, Keep Longmire running……we need these kind of shows, that has history, integrity, loyalty, love…it is a great show KEEP IT RUNNING!!!!!!!
I, too, am addicted to LONGMIRE!!!! My brother describes me as a dog with a bone as I rant about this show being cancelled. I hear that A&E has advertising for the younger population. I’d say get other folks who cater to the baby boomers–last count is that there are a whole lot of us. Do the math.
Keep LONGMIRE!!
WHO WAS THE STUPID IDIOT, THAT CANCELED ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TV ? IT COULD HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED INTO A TEN, TO FIFTEEN YEAR SERIES. I WILL BLOCK A&E FROM ANY FUTURE VIEWING, BECAUSE OF THIS ACTION. WHY DON`T YOU FILL THE TIME SLOT WITH ,” HOUSEWIVES OF BITCHVILLE .” OR A MINDLESS FOOD EATING CONTEST.
My sentiments exactly!!
I am so thrilled that so many viewers share my sentiments regarding LONGMIRE.
I am dumbfounded that a previous decent network has succumbed to showing frivolous shows, instead of meaty, well scripted and acting series such as Longmire.
I for one will not watch A&E.
The younger generation unfortunely(not all of course)probably doesn’t even know who is President!! That’s the population that A&E wants? Well then we are in trouble.
We are with you 110%. Who owns A&E, someone who is out of touch on what intelligent people like to watch? Do you know if another carrier will pick it up?
Why would this show have been canceled what is this network thinking?
Bring back the show
what are you guys thinking? awesome show please some other station pick it up. where do we vote to keep it on.
My husband and I really enjoyed this series. I am so sick of reality shows it was so nice to have a show on with a good story line. We liked The Glades too and you canceled it. There are so few good shows on the air and when you do find a good one it gets canned.
I can not believe you canceled Longmore. One of the best shows on tv.i have enjoyed A&E but not anymore. You want a younger audience let them buy your products.. I am offended.
