MTV is saying goodbye to Loosely Exactly Nicole. Deadline reports the network has cancelled the freshman comedy series.
The show starred Nicole Byer as a semi-fictional version of herself — a young woman trying to make it in Hollywood. The cast also included Fahim Anwar, Kimrie Lewis-Davis, Rachel Hilson, and Sophie von Haselberg.
Loosely Exactly Nicole premiered on September 5th to a low rating of .16 in the 18-49 demo and 336,000 viewers. The ratings declined even further over the course of season one’s 10 episodes. Overall, the season earned an average rating of .09 in the 18-49 demo and only 198,000 viewers.
This week, MTV also decided to cancel the freshman comedy Mary + Jane.
What do you think? Did you watch Loosely Exactly Nicole? Are you sad it’s been cancelled?
This really sucks because it was a really funny show and something good to past sometime with! I really would be happier with Nicole and the crew back in my life and would definitely watch season 1 again since there will be no more Nicole!
Those two shows, loosely exactly Nicole AND Mary and Jane were my two favorite shows on TV. That really sucks!!!
This sucks the show was funny, smart, & well written. I dvr’ed it & told a few friends. I just hate they didn’t really promote the show on other channels. It was promoted like on 1 channel.
This blows, I loved that show, she was such great black plus sized representation. They didn’t advertise for it well enough, honestly. It was so nice to see her, such s great show
