FOX is going to Hell … again. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed Lucifer for a second season, Variety reports.
The drama stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, the fallen angel who has left his post in Hell to run a Los Angeles nightclub. Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, D. B. Woodside, and Scarlett Estevez also star.
Lucifer premiered to favorable ratings, earning a 2.43 in the 18-49 demo and 7.156 million viewers with its January debut. And while ratings have dropped off significantly since then, with an average of 1.55 in the 18-49 demo and around 4.820 million viewers, the series is still one of FOX’s stronger performers.
From Fox entertainment president David Madden:
We knew we had something special with ‘Lucifer,’ from the engaging performances of Tom, Lauren and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team.”
Today, FOX also renewed Rosewood for a second season.
What do you think? Have you been watching Lucifer? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
My entire family is hooked on Lucifer. Great show! We are sad it is over for this season. Can’t wait to see Season 2!
Love this show
I am so happy Lucifer was renewed for season 2, its the best show that has come along in ages. It is funny ,dramatic, very well written. The cast is great. can’t say enough about it. yay fox
Cancelling ? Please, no. Last 4 months i spend my whole week waiting for monday. It is at 4 a.m here and not showed in our TVs so i watched with low definition without subtitles from original site live instead of waiting 1 day to local sites broadcast it better quality with subtitles. I even dont know how to wait till next season. Please also make a movie about it too.
I absolutely love the show!! Tom Ellis is perfect in the role. I like it so much I figured it would be cancelled as many other shows I like get cancelled.
“Lucifer” is reminiscent of a good old-fashioned “Restoration” comedy. All the quips, turns, saucy language and innuendo. Only this stylish series has the benefit of clever plots that hint at ultimate redemption for the title character as well. Not particularly Biblical in scope, but up there with other allegories in attraction. Tom Ellis has ennui down to a science when the scene calls for it and vulnerability when the plot requires it. It’s a pleasure to watch, re-watch, and then discuss. Great job on keeping the quality high as well. Absolutely love it! Looking forward to seeing where he goes… Read more »
Show is awesome! Can’t wait see the next one.
Good show. There is no real mythology on the devil’s mother except perhaps in the Norse religion, but then the devil would not be named Lucifer , so I’m curious to see where this goes , now. Anyway the show is fun to watch and I’m glad it has been renewed , although second seasons are sometimes difficult to write because writers want to be shocking all the time and in my opinion exaggerate a lttle , as it happened with the sci-fi show Continuum which I was gladly watching, and as it took a few too many too many… Read more »
My family is so glad you’ve renewed Lucifer for a second season. We rarely watch television and this show is one that we gather around and watch as a family. Thank you!
Very happy! Can’t wait for season 2!
Happy happy happy! !!
My husband and I have watched Lucifer from the beginning and we really like the show and are really glad that it is renewed. I really like Tom Ellis and Lauren German.
Excellent show – witty – classic – best new show in a long time
Watched the pilot..loved the quirkiness of the story line. With each episode, enjoyed the show more & more. “Lucifer” is charasmatic, engaging and delivers the character. The supporting cast supports Lucifers good/evil personality. One of my favorite shows at the moment. Keep up the good work writers……I look forward to season 2 also in the UK… Please FOX carry on and upwards. Many pre-viewious frowned to heavily to this to be on TV publication to begin with, but FOX your sure changed alot of the latter minds, so well done I say! To who view this post/blog i hwve added… Read more »
