The networks sure are keen on time travel tv shows, this season. The Timeless drama series premiered on NBC in October of 2016 but it may well be cancelled and not get a second season. On March 5th, ABC rolled out out another drama, Time After Time, on the same night that the Making History sitcom debuted on FOX. Only time will tell if either show will fare better in the ratings.
A single-camera comedy series airing on the FOX television network, the Making History TV show stars Adam Pally, Leighton Meester, Yassir Lester, John Gemberling, and Neil Casey. Ordinary Dan (Pally) discovers time travel and journeys back to Colonial America. There, he falls in love with Deborah (Meester), who happens to be the daughter of Paul Revere. Dan enlists the help of history professor Chris (Lester) to help him correct the blunders he’s caused in the 1770s, which could change the outcome of the American Revolution. Will these three friends from two different centuries manage to balance the fun and adventure of time travel with the humdrum responsibilities of their otherwise ordinary lives?
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/22 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Making History TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
5/11 update: FOX has cancelled Making History after one season. Details here.
It was a amazing tv show need to be on at a better time and more advertising on it That probably why it didn’t not get Many viewers No one knows about it
Actually nothing like making history, the cast is awesome, at least one more season would be nice, tired of shows with no thought or originality still being on the air.
I am a huge fan of Making History and I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SEASON 2!! Please don’t cancel ANOTHER great program!!
Love it. Very silly fun. I hope it sticks around for a few seasons.
come on at least give it another season to see if it can find its groove. There are WAY worse shows than this on tv that have been renewed. These ratings aren’t even that bad honestly…This show does so many things right as far as comedy goes. Damn I’m gonna miss this show, I jut barely got into it, and its already over. These actors are hilarious, Leighton meester is hilarious AND beautiful to look at. The supporting actors have all been great…so many positives, and so little negatives…please give us ONE MORE SEASON AT LEAST!
great show. very funny.
loved making history it was so funny
awful awful show
Timeless on the hand is great
I love this show. Please renewed.
It’s one of those shows that’s so dumb it’s cute. I enjoyed it. Hope it stays.
I love this show! It’s quirky and funny and I love history so I love the part of the 1700’s smelling like poop. I like that the woman character is discovering her self-worth (even though she is amazingly self-sufficient and under appreciated)! If the show is renewed ( I will be terribly sad if it isn’t), can you please do an episode about Lewis & Clark. What’s funnier than being shot in the butt by a one-eyed man. And Sacagawea was married to an arrogant wuzz.
