It will be a happy St. Patrick’s Day, for fans of Marvel’s The Defenders. Netflix has announced the first season of Marvel’s Iron Fist TV show will premiere Friday, March 17, 2017. The cast includes Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Lewis Tan. Watch the announcement video, and a first look, after the jump.
Jones stars a billionaire Danny Rand. Netflix says he, “…returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

In case you missed it, here is a first look at Marvel’s Iron Fist that Netflix released for San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2016.
As is customary for Netflix, Marvel’s Iron Fist will launch at 3:01am ET and 12:01am PT. Marvel’s Luke Cage dropped on September 30th, and Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones debuted in 2015.
The four superhero series will lead to Marvel’s The Defenders TV series, which is expected to kick off in 2017.
