Years before ER or Grey’s Anatomy, there was Medical Center. The drama debuted in 1969 on CBS and ran for seven seasons and 171 episodes.
The medical show revolves around two surgeons, their lives and the lives of their patients. Paul Lochner (James Daly) is the experienced Chief of Staff and Joe Gannon (Chad Everett) is a young and handsome physician and they both work at a university hospital in Los Angeles. Gannon also works as the head of the Student Health Department at the University. They’re helped by a very efficient nurse Eve Wilcox, (Audrey Totter).

Just discovered Medical Centre it wasn’t shown in England watch as much as is possible on You Tube, as I do with The Dakotas have always been a fan of Chad Everett and have most of films that he was in per Cold Case Murder she wrote Touched by an Angel, Ironside etc etc he was one of the many underrated actors and performers of time he could have been as big as Clint Eastwood with the right genre and I am a massive fan of Clint
A good series for it’s time. It would be dated by todays standard but the cast was a good one.
I loved watching Medical Center and Chad Everett..It was one of the best shows of 70’s…Would love to see the DVDs again now 40 years later…love it
I have such good memories of watching Medical Center. I remember the shows that preceded it, which at one point was Hawaii Five-O, and another season it was Carol Burnett.
Those are the ones that stick out to me. Medical Center was such a great show. It was so
exciting waiting for it to come on. I know, I’m a crazy Medical Center fan. I loved it!
Oh my gosh!!!! Medical Center is FINALLY out!!!! I was around 13 when Medical Center
came on and I was so in love with Dr. Gannon. My siblings say I would KILL anyone that
would get near the tv. I had every magazine picture, wrote him poems, love letters!!!
I totally when crazy over Joe Gannon, ha ha. Please, please, please…. I HAVE TO WIN!
Anyway, I’m so happy it’s out, it’s been a LONG wait.
the end
And now all I’ll have for my med show fix (which I can stand) is House. And he’s no Joe Gannon. Could you imagine such a misanthrope character back in the 70s? Not I.
Entering for the last time at a chance of winning this medical series season one on dvd.
Good luck everyone!
