Detective Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee) has sung his last Elvis song and solved his last case. TNT has cancelled Memphis Beat after two season on the air.
A TNT spokesperson said, “TNT has decided not to pick up a third season of Memphis Beat… The network thanks everyone involved in the production of Memphis Beat for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew. TNT wishes everyone the best.” The last episode aired on August 16th.
Beat was the last of the TNT dramas to have its fate decided. The cable channel renewed Leverage, Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, and Franklin & Bash but cancelled Beat, HawthoRNe, and Men of a Certain Age. Men had the worst ratings of the three axed series while HawthoRNe and Beat were next in line.
Lee will next be seen on NBC’s Up All Night and Beat creators/spouses Liz Garcia and Josh Harto recently sold a new drama to the peacock network called The Meadows.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Memphis Beat has been cancelled? What would you have liked to see happen in season three?

You made a big mistake by taking this show off, by the way , i don’t watch any of the show ‘s you replaced it with. BRING BACK MEMPHIS BEAT!!!!!
I never dreamed this would be one of the cancellations this season. I thought it was well written and had great actors.
Great Show – Can’t believe it is cancelled. Great story line and great characters. Dwight should stick to closing with Elvis songs…I really missed that in the second series…gee, is that why it is cancelled – viewers missed that part????
Apparently, the “powers that be” think ALL viewers have the attention span of a two-year old, are only interested in moronic reality shows, who’s ******** who in Hollywood, or news or sports! Here we had a show that was 100% entertaining! You could watch it alone, or with your 80 year old mother or 10 year old son and didn’t have to keep your thumb on the mute button because because of the foul rhetoric or keep you hand close enough to slap over your child’s eyes because of nudity or vulgar body language! Understand this! I am no prude… Read more »
BRING IT BACK. I love this show.

Can’t believe that this show has been cancelled. This is a mistake. Great characters and cast.
One of my FAVORITE shows! Well written, great characters, terrific cast……………WHAT is wrong with these networks? I hope this one gets picked up by someone else. I hope “The Good Guys” gets a chance somewhere else too. Everyone I know watched these two shows!
PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK, TNT!!
First TNT didn’t want to buy the show my name is Earl. It was funny and I think that this show had at least 3 years left. Now this people canceled a good show like Memphis beat. This show was great, the stories were well written and the cast was just perfect. TNT u SuCK
I really enjoyed Memphis Beat….I really hope another channel will pick this show up…I found this show to be very entertaining….Hope to see a new season….
I looked forward each week to seeing MEMPHIS BEAT. The characters were so well cast. I lived in Memphis through the fifth grade and it became a nostalgic fix for me. I will greatly miss the series and am quite disappointed that it was dropped.
This is so disappointing. This had great mystery and characters were wonderful. Guess it was just too decent and clean for TV. Alas
Can’t believe that this show has been cancelled and that “Falling Skies” was renewed?.. wow … I thought TNT was smarter and better than that! I mean they have such a great hit line up of shows like Leverage, Rizzole & Isles and Closer ..come on TNT bring it back.
This was the best. I hope other station would pick this up.
I am very sorry to see Memphis cancelled. My wife and I enjoyed the show a great deal. We liked the cast and the plot and, oh yes, the music. Think it should have stayed on.
