ABC surprised more than a few people when the network renewed Men in Trees for a second season. Great, but where did it go?
Marin Frist (Anne Heche) is a best-selling author and relationship coach who helps women find the right man, using her own life as an example. On a plane trip to attend an Alaska conference, she finds out that her finance has been cheating on her and realizes that she doesn’t know as much as she thought she did. Marin decides to stay in the remote town (where the ratio of men to women is 10 to one) so that she can truly learn how to find and keep a good man, and write a new book. The cast also features Abraham Benrubi, Emily Bergl, Seana Kofoed, Suleka Mathew, Derek Richardson, Sarah Strange, Cynthia Stevenson, Lauren Tom, James Tupper, and John Amos.
Men in Trees debuted on September 12, 2006 on ABC. Trees followed the Fall debut of Dancing with the Stars and attracted over 12.1 million viewers. The second episode lost a third of the audience and attracted just over eight million in its regular timeslot. Despite a season of ratings ups and downs, ABC renewed Men in Trees for a second year on March 21st.
Men in Trees has been off the air however since March 8th. ABC pulled the series to make room for the debut of October Road. Trees was originally scheduled to return on April 12th but ABC has reworked its schedule more than once, delaying the return each time.
ABC has now announced that Trees fans will have to wait a whole longer to see new episodes — probably five months. The remaining five episodes of season one will now be part of Trees’ second season, bringing the sophomore year episode total to 27.
Though frustrating and unusual, this isn’t unprecedented. Grey’s Anatomy and Boston Legal both had 27 episode sophomore years. There have been rumors that ABC may change their mind and decide to air the rest this season. We’ll keep you posted so stay tuned!

Broken promises! Who is in charge here? Seems to me the voice of the fans repeatedly goes unnoticed and unheard!! What is the problem? Do you not know what is going on or do you choose to just keep us all dangling-g-g-g-g-g-g? I’m trying to be nice about this, but, you know what they say about nice people? My household would love to see MIT back on Thurs. nights. Please?
You have a hit on your hands. There is so much junk on, why do we have to wait to see one of the best show on ABC? You have something different. I am sick of game shows, killings, and crime stories. Can’t we have some quality entertainment? Bring the show back!!!!

I finally found a show on TV that I couldn’t wait to see and you pulled it! Please bring it backMen in Tree’s. I loved Thurs. night TV because of Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy and Men in Trees. Bring it back!!!!! October Road is good too but can’t you run it another night?
Many years ago I watched Anne Heche play twins Victoria/Marley Hudson on “Another World.” She was a doll then & one could see a gifted actor in the making. Granted, since those days she’s made some questionable life-decisions; however, I was so happy to see her return to TV in “Men in Trees.” I was not disappointed!! I so enjoy this show & everyone in it. My husband watches it, too, & my mother loves it as well.
BRING IT BACK SOONER THAN LATER!!

What is going on with this network? Here’s a program that has really good messages and resolutions to everyday, every kind of situations that can happen to any of us, and YOU “The Net Work” decide to hold it off? Though you let someone like Rosie O’Donnel say irresponsible and hate filled messages on one of your programs? Why? BRING BACK ‘MEN IN TREES’, ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I’VE SEEN IN AGES.
MY HUSBAND & I HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TASTES IN TV VIEWING, BUT ‘MEN IN TREES’ IS THE ONE SHOW WE ENJOYED AND WATCHED TOGETHER.
Bring back Men in Trees-I loved it. I never watched October Road because I was so mad MIT was gone!!!!

Please bring back “Men In Trees”. My husband and I love the Thursday spot right after “Grey’s”. We won’t even watch “October Road”, it just more angry, Abecumbie boys. Hate it!!!!
Please bring back Men IN Trees another great show just like what About Brian. We’re hooked and just getting our friends to watch and duaghter and her friends can’t miss them and then poof their gone what’s up with that? Please no more game show’s or reality shows.
MEN IN TREES PLEASE! Never missed an espisode. Even my hubby enjoyed the show when it was still on air.
