Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

I loved the show, I am tired of the “young demographic” that the ex’s are using. They
only seem to watch trashy reality shows with no real substance. I would hope that
maybe lifetime or usa would recognize a quality program like this and pick it up
you made a mistake by cancelling “Missing”. ashley judd is amazing, intelligent, and far from the hollow sex driven “Scandal” show that aired opposite it. if “Scandal” got better ratings, all you had to do was change the time slot of “Missing” instead of cancelling it. bring judd back!

I really loved Missing……looked forward to it every week. Great actors, and beautiful scenery, too. I was shocked…still can’t believe it…that Missing was cancelled. I am really sick of reality shows, and was so glad to see a series with a great story-line. Between Missing, Revenge, and The Firm, I had finally found some good TV-watching. (Also thought the Ringer was not too bad, but it was cancelled too!)
Has there ever been a cancelled series that was resurrected, due to viewers’ feedback? If it were possible, sure hope the suits reconsider Missing.
This was one of the BEST shows to come out in a long time. Good stories, actors and it was intribuing. I believe the time slot was one of the reasons it wasn’t a success, as well as not enough advertising. I believe this show should be picked up by TNT or another cable station. I would definitely watch this show! I’m very dissapointed.

I absolutely loved this show. I just found out that it was cancelled and I am so mad. The storyline and the actors were fantastic. Missing should be out back on the air.
Loved the show. Can’t believe they cancelled it. They should have given it a different time slot and at least one more season to draw in viewers. Some of those execs are so stupid!!
This was a god show hardly anyone watched-according to ratings. They should have told the producer that they were pulling the plug. Then it could have been a good one season show. Instead we got an open ending with her being taken.
I cant believe they didnt try another night or time slot! It was one of the best shows on. Im sick of reality and all the other junk on TV now. It and Revenge were all my friends and family and myself looked forward to on Tv anymore. The suits who decided this should be FIRED!!!!!

someone tell the suits at abc they should re-think their decision….and the locals that were featured….i’ll never get to europe but i got to see some of it every week. c’mon guys.
Missing had a riveting, dramatic storyline with a beautiful backdrop and great actors. I think to re-introduce it, put it on another night — Sunday? and you’ll watch the ratings go up as word of mouth spreads.
Cancelled ??!!…I’ve start to see the episodes and i like it very much!! Most of them r recorded since May…that’s why i start to see them just now…
It was the most interessent serie on TV (Action, Mistery, Beautifull landscapes…) grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I can’t believe the show Missing has been cancelled. I love this show. Everybody at my work watched it also. We all would come in to work and talk about each episode. Please bring it back, or at least put the 2nd season on DVD. We need more shows like this on TV. Love watching Ashley Judd.
