Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

Pity. The show wasn’t epic, but quite entertaining. But i agree with the above repliers, most viewers tend to prefer shows with an episodic character. Attention span-walnut, and whatnot.
The show MUST go on! Cast and crew did a FABULOUS job! Cudos to them all! This has been the one show I had to see every week despite my VERY busy schedule. I cannot get this show off my mind! There has to be a 2nd season on some network if not ABC. I need closure! I was left hanging with so many questions. PLEASE let this show continue!
Just spent the last 2 days catching up on all the Tivoed episodes of Missing. I agree with the previous comments on hoping that someone picks up it up ’cause it was a great weekend! Really exciting storylines and fantastic locations….must have been really expensive, but so worth it for finally quality TV! So “what has happened to Becca?”. Please….we need season 2!
My husband and I really enjoyed it. We are very disappointed with its cancellation. Quality shows are so rare anymore with all the trash tv. I guess if thinking is required the show gets cancelled.
I can not believe it, there is finally a show worth watching and YOU and your so called panel of judges who rate shows (who by the way do not know a good show if it came up to them and bit them), cancel the one of the best shows we have watched on a long time. I could not be home on Thursday nights to watch it, BUT, it recorded every Thursday. My husband and I would watch it over the weekend when there is Nothing on. Lets just say I am very disappointed with ABC.
Cancelling Missing is a tremendous disappointment. My wife and I recorded every show and sometimes watched them twice. Very well made. Trilling. Great actors. Wonderful plots. Incredible photography. Fantastic locations. Creative scripts. It was the best program all season.
This was really a good show and I enjoyed the behind the scenes scenery ,the actors were great and was really looking forward to the next season ,I am shocked ABC did try another day and time slot.This might possibly be the only show that I watched on ABC, maybe one of those cable stations will pick this show up and make a lot of Missing fans found.
This is quite disappointing to hear that such a awsome thrilling movie such as “Missing” has been cancelled at the end of Season 1- episode 10. Though there weren’t many people watching the series during the time of error, many of us who are bussy through the days are able to record the tv series and watch this exhilarant movie series afterwards. I’m just hoping that the movie series will continues to air on tv, for those who engoy the inspiring movie. Everytime I think I am going to get to see Cliff Curtis every week the show gets cancelled.I am tired of all the shows where people will do anything for money. This show was so different from all the others that I wonder what would have happened if they had tried another time slot for a few weeks.
I actually enjoyed the show both my daughter and I watched every Thursday evening. We were hoping for a second season especially after the way the final episode ended.. Geesh get a grip not everyone is going to like the same shows but since only 6+ million people watched that wasn’t good enough huh..
Very upset to learn that missing was cancelled! This is the first show I made sure to watch if I was not going to be home I recorded it!! I just Google to see when will the next season start. To learn that it was cancelled…… That just hurt my feelings….! Why would YALL leave us in such suspense?!?! (P.s. This show gave me and my oldest son some extra time together.. If it was recorded we would wait for each other to watch it.. :,) Lol.. just thought I’ll add that.!)
This is the exact reason I never let myself get into TV shows. Every time I find a show I really enjoy it gets cancelled. I’m so tired of the singing and dancing competions being the only option of shows to watch. I don’t enjoy watching any of that mess. Please Re-Consider a second season of Missing. This has been the first show I looked forward to watching in several years.
I was so into missing if abc new there were going to cancell the show they should never have left a cliff hanger to beat all cliff hangers they should bring it back and not leave us hanging that only makes me want to never watch a tv show cause i am sick to death of liking a show and then having it pulled out from under me cause it went through a ruff patch
I AM SO TERRIBLY UPSET TO LEARN THERE WILL BE NO SEASON 2….HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY CANCEL ONE OF THE BEST SERIES ON TV….I COULD HARDLY WAIT EACH WEEK FOR THE NEXT EPISODE, AND THE LAST SHOW ASSURED ME THERE WOULD BE ANOTHER SEASON…..YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY END THIS WITH A MISSING MAIN CHARACTER…..WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???? PLEASE RE-THINK THIS AND LET US HAVE AT LEAST ANOTHER SEASON……THIS , ALONG WITH REVENGE, WAS THE BEST SHOWS OF THE SEASON!!!!!
