Here in the states, the Motive TV show can hardly be called a ratings success. However, it’s doing well enough in Canada for CTV to renew it for a third season. Production resumes this fall.
Motive revolves around a strong-willed Vancouver detective (Kristin Lehman) who’s also a single mom. At the start of each episode, viewers are shown the killer and victims. As the criminal investigation progresses, details of what led to the crime are revealved via flashbacks. The rest of the cast includes Louis Ferreira, Lauren Holly, Roger Cross, Brendan Penny, and Cameron Bright.
Though last summer’s ratings weren’t very good, ABC picked up the 13 episodes of season two and they started airing last week. Season two’s ratings have been even worse and it’s currently the network’s lowest-rated summer show.
ABC only licenses the show so it’s cheaper for them than producing their own summer dramas. Could the ratings be poor enough this year so that it wouldn’t make sense for them to air the show, even at a low cost? We shall see.

Yes, please bring back Motive! Love this show and the main characters are superb. Definitely my favorite summer series. Hopefully, the right people are paying attention to us fans.

I love this show, it is unlike any other show on tv. Different premise than seen before also.
The casts is always great, the story is always interesting; an all around great mystery series. Hope it stays on for years to come

Motives was/is an outstanding drama. Just like Black-box was a fantastic show.
You need bring them both back.. The Mistresses summer series is a silly show, and the acting is horrible. that’s a show you should have been cancelled.

Love this show. So much better than US written & acted drivel. Also loved Davinci and we lost that, too. C’mon, take a refresher course in quality!

Bring back Motive – it is well written, well acted and lots more interesting than many of the shows that are on the air. Perhaps it has not found its audience yet – but I wouldn’t miss an episode!

Motive is a great show! I wish it had the regular 9-month progprogramming. I look forward to it all year. Its very different. I loved Kristin Lehman on The Killing.
