The alphabet network has decided they don’t need quite as many episodes of No Ordinary Family. This is just another indication that the show will be cancelled in May. The freshman series may revolve around a family with special powers but the ratings have been anything but super.
Starring Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz, No Ordinary Family debuted on September 28th to a 3.2 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million viewers. That was a good start but the numbers dropped by 16% by episode two and have essentially kept falling ever since. The latest installment hit a new low with a 1.4 rating in the demo and 4.77 million viewers, making it the lowest-rated scripted show on the network.
Back in late October, despite the falling numbers, ABC ordered nine additional episodes, bringing No Ordinary Family’s season total to 22 installments. ABC execs have now decided to cut the order down to 20 episodes.
According to The Futon Critic, this week’s episode will be an original, number 17. The next two weeks will be filled by repeats and then the final three episodes of the season (and likely the series) will air after that. The finale will air on April 5th.
What do you think? Are you disappointed by the news? Is No Ordinary Family worth saving?

I fell that this show should be saved. it is very entertaining.
This is one of the only clean shows on tv!please please don’t get rid of it! We look forward to watching it every week.
Better than I expected , give this show a chance, so much new junk out there this show is better than most new shows I seen lately
Please keep the show alive because I enjoy it alot and look forward to seeing it on tuesday nights. As soon as I get interested in a great new show , it soon is cancelled. Not fair. Give it some more time to catch on. Advertise it more and people will watch it.
Rome was not built in a day.
Please keep the show running. It is in a good time slot also.
Thank You
Bill
There are not many family shows out there any more and to drop this show would be horrible. Its fun for kids but still interesting and entertaing for adults. I love the show and relly dont want to see it go.
I think you should keep No Ordinary Family. It is a good show and if you have children they can actually watch it. I agree with one of the comments below you should not have gotten rid of Josh. I hope that maybe in one of the last 3 episodes you will bring him back. I am really upset that this show is being cancelled.
This is an amazing show. It has great characters, good writing, and keeps getting better as the season progresses. It would be very irritating if the show isn’t renewed.
how about getting rid of reality shows and keep the family shows like this one we need to keep this show going .i like this show it is family mattered .so there is no blood and gore. but then i can have my kids watch this show . there is not many shows that stay on tv long but this one needs a chance.
the show ruled why stop it know .it is my favorited family show .there are hardly any good shows that last long any more .wont the at least finish all the episodes for everyone else who watches it .
one of the best family shows i af seen in a long time stupid to end it . every time a good shows up they take it off the air why ? i liked the show commish it was a good family show where is it off the air cant even purchase all the episodes
My fiance and i watch this show together, since he is in college in one state and i am in another state we normally watch it on xfinity or Hulu. So its something we can enjoy together. We would both hate to see it canceled. Makes me sad because it reminds me of shows i watched when i was younger with my mom, without all the gross commentary and such. I hope the do release it on DvD though that way we will always be able to go back. sigh.
A great show and the only one I watch that night
Keep No Ordinary Family ABC!!!!
This show is great because it has action but it’s still ‘clean’ enough to watch with kids
Hi, I think No Ordinary Family is a great show! I know many people would hate to see it cancelled. I do think that Josh shouldn’t have been written out. that was making the show interesting, along with evil Dr. King. I guess because it’s not filled with blood and gore or sick degrading jokes or acts, it doesn’t sell well. So much for the mentality of the majority of viewers. There was a show last year I thought was equally as good, and unfortunately it was cancelled too. It was called The Forgotten. Now that was a good emotional… Read more »
This show is the best I agree with other users move the day and give it another season.
