Tig Bavaro is signing off. Amazon has cancelled its One Mississippi TV show after two seasons. The second and final season of the series from Tig Notaro and Diablo Cody premiered on Amazon on September 8, 2017.
An Amazon Prime Video TV series, One Mississippi stars Tig Notaro, Noah Harpster, John Rothman, Stephanie Allynne, Rya Kihlstedt, Carly Jibson, Beth Grant, Carol Mansell, Casey Wilson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Adora Dei. A semi-autobiographical “traumedy” based on Notaro’s life, One Mississippi ponders what happens when you must go home again — whether or not your truly can.
Today, Amazon also cancelled Kevin Bacon’s I Love Dick, as well as Jean-Claude Van Johnson. On the upside, earlier today, they renewed The Tick for season two.

Notaro’s semi-autobiographical One Mississippi has garnered strong reviews (100% on Rotten Tomatoes for Season 2), and the series also made headlines for its depiction of sexual misconduct that later was linked to the Louis C.K. scandal. The disgraced comedian was an executive producer on the series (in name only).

Amazon, which is on the hunt for big, broad drama hits, has dramatically pared down its comedy series slate, once populated heavily of quirky, underrated half-hour shows. Besides Globe-winning Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and just-renewed freshman hit The Tick, all other existing comedy series have been canceled, and the streaming platform also recently opted not to pick up any of the three comedy pilots from its most recent fall pilot season.

Just finished season 2 of One Mississippi! I loved it! All the characters were intriguing, but I especially loved the budding relationship between Bill and Felicia! What a disappointment that we will not get to see what happens to this diverse and loving family!
Total bummer. I would love to see more of this show.

I too was researching to see if there was a series 3 of One Mississippi! So disappointed this has been cancelled. Such a very interesting two series, informative, Funny, quirky and so well written. Disappointed fan.

One Mississippi is one of the best shows I’ve watched in a while. I am disappointed that there will not be a third season.
I just discovered One Mississippi on Amazon yesterday. I finished both seasons tonight. I was doing some research to find out when Season 3 starts. Then I found out the series was cancelled.
I think that was a mistake. This is a great show! I think you should renew the show for a few more seasons!
I loved this series as did my husband. Important topics, great character development, smart comedy. We are disappointed that it has been canceled.
Amazon WHAT are you THINKING?!? It was impressive to take in Notaro’s subtle yet so emotionally compelling portrayal in this “traumedy.” To go through all that and then come out the other side with such bravery and humanity – AND to be that funny, too- it was cathartic and inspired. TV Land is littered with so much vapid, banal content, it’s hard to believe they couldn’t move some of that canned programming over to make room for this gem. What a shame!

One Mississippi is the main reason why signed up for Amazon. I shuttered at the thought of L.C.K being associated, but take Him off, His name and continue the series. I am super bugged at the folks that made that decision. With all of the predictable writing and shallow shows that are out, I thought … it’s about time a show that is written and delivered with such raw and relatable content. I am absolutely sick One Mississippi has been cancelled. It is one of the best series I have ever seen. Amazon should be ashamed. The casting was fabulous as well as the acting. I am in total grief at this moment after binging all weekend…telling everyone at work today how great it was….coming home to finish the final show and NOW…AND NOW….finding out its over. One Mississippi….you were the BEST!!! Thank you all…my wife Ann and I loved you!!!

I just binged watch the entire 2 seasons in one night and I feel terrible that I have just found out that you all cancelled season 3. I think that this show was a positive for what many people have and will continue to experience. It brought up topics that are far to often not talked about in our society. It gave validation to perhaps others to speak up and know they are not alone. To have the courage to right a wrong and stop others from being a victim of sexual abuse.
