Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
My wife and I are classic car nuts and watch chip and crew religiously. We will miss it for sure and hope it might return in the future. Thanks for the ride Chip and the A team.
Very sad this show is ending……the only velocity show that is worth watching……I would have watched indefinitely………
I would have definitely watched season 10,11 ext…
It’s sad to she Overhaulin end. Mr Foose you will be missed. PS wishing I was overhauled
Overhaulin’ is the best.. Please let it stay on.
Can U help me with my 1967 Chevelle Malibu that I bought brand new. It needs some TLC to get it back to Primo.
I’m A 71 year old classic car lovin hippie girl & would love to drive my car in 1 more Route 66 run. Help from Chip Foose would take her to Primo.
I’m a 71 year old classic car lover. I have a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible that I bought new & it still has NO rust. It is my last wish to drive it one more time. I love my Malibu.
No man comes close. But Chip Foose can if he wants to make my dream come True. I don’t know if he can do it but maybe he’ll give it a try.
Baaaaad move !! Can’t believe OVERHAULIN is going away !! It’s bad enough we lost the SPEED channel but THIS is INEXCUSABLE !! I’ve been a loyal and addicted fan since the beginning and, it’s what Iwatch, every night before I go to sleep. So, now you’re even, taking away my favorite bedtime stories! I think it’s a huge mistake; canceling one of the best shows on the air !! Now all we’re left with is nonsense with norwal value ans, a few mediocre car shows that just don’t rise to the quality of Chip and the A-team !!
About money aBest car show ever hate to see it cancelled. We all know tv is about money not about content
I have never posted a comment to anything, ever but this deserves it….I assume that Chip is just burned out. I get it. Discovery….Please rethink your decision and get creative. Have the same type of show with guest designers or whatever. Find a way to keep it or a variation on the air. You must of learned something with your poor decisions on killing BJ Auctions and then reverseing it or your very poor decision to kill WCC and now it appears on a network that nobody gets. Think this decision through. Please.
Can’t believe this show is cancelled, you guys must have lost your mind!!!!PLEASE PUT IT BACK ON!!!!
Nonsense!! Why cancel one of the best car shows on cable? Been a fan for years, Foose provides more than just entertainment, he provides education. Bad move.
Best car show ever… We lost Speed Channel now Overhauling. What do these networks think the consumer wants to watch? They are canceling the best technical shows and keeping the lame ones. Very unfortunate.
CAN’T UNDERSTAND TAKING OVERHAULIN OFF.
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE? THIS IS A GREAT SHOW FOR US CAR GUYS, LOOK AT HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT HELP. THIS IS A BAD MOVE. THINK IT OVER N CORRECT UR MISTAKE.
This sucks ! I look forward to this show all the time.
One of the best shows on TV and you are cancelling it!! Some MBA Marketing dweeb needs to be run off… Bummer
