Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/29/11
Episode two came down 13% in the demo to a 2.7 rating and 12.51 million. It was fourth in its timeslot. The network was down by 13% year-to-year and this new series is currently ranking in the middle of the pack on CBS. If the ratings keep going down like this, it won’t take much for Person of Interest to be in the bottom tier and be in serious danger.
Season average: 2.9 demo with 12.92 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/22/11
This new drama had some positive reviews but didn’t deliver particularly strong ratings. The first episode garnered a 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic and 13.33 million viewers. It was in fourth place for the timeslot. Year-to-year, aging CSI’s last season debut did 9% better in the demo and 10% better in total viewers.
Some commenters on this site indicated that they felt the pacing was very slow and that seems to match up with the quarter hour breakdowns. Person of Interest started with a 3.3 in the demo and finished with a 2.9 rating. While these numbers aren’t bad, they are hardly what CBS was hoping for.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the new Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

This is one of the best series to come along, it is refreshing to see this kind of format
and they tantalize us at the end of the episodes with one or two lines that tells us
the story is just begining. keep this show on the air
Please do not cancel Person Of Interest! It is my favorite show on TV…the characters are so deep and the excitement is non stop. I love the uniqueness of the story line and the actors are fabulous!
PLEASE do NOT cancel this show!!! POI is the best show on television!! Riveting, LOVE all the actors, and especially Reese!!! 😉
Person of Interest is not only a great show, it is also unique. I do not watch cop shows because they are not interesting and when you see one you have seen them all. Please do not cancel this show. I DVR this show every week.
I love this show. I look forward to Thursday nights every week for my date with POI. I too record each episode so I can watch it again. I can’t wait until March Madness is over and the show returns to Thursday nights. I can only echo the words of the commenters above: it’s a fantastic show, with wonderful actors, good chemistry and great stories. It truly deserves to be renewed.
We love this show. Please do not cancel it.
This is a great show! My wife and I watch it every week. It’s original and well-written. We have encouraged some of our friends to watch it also. This note is to make a plea to keep it. There aren’t many shows on TV that are close to the drama and suspense that “Person…” has, so please continue. The cast is also great! Good chemistry.

Great show. Not just a carbon copy of something else.
Please don’t cancel this show I love it!
Love it! It’s the best tv show better than Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice & I love those too but Person of Interest beats them both.
Please do not cancel Person of Interest. It is the best show on TV. Not only have we watched all 17 episodes, we have recorded each one so that we can go back and watch them when there is nothing else on. Some of the episodes we have watched more than three times already. Everytime we watch an episode, we see something different or see something that we missed the first time we watched it. Both lead actors are fantastic and the supporting cast is superb. The writers do a fantastic job of weaving a plot and we feel that… Read more »
Do not cancel. I love this show more then survivor. I have never missed an episode. I will be very very disappointed Thursday. Night is my favorite. All because of Person Of Interest.
We absolutely love Person of Interest and wouldn’t miss it. There’s even an unofficial POI fan club where I work. There’s nothing else like it on TV and would be really disappointed if it’s taken off the air.
I love Person of Interest, and am praying that it gets renewed. One of the most interesting shows on TV. Just watching these two very solitary men trying to form a bond has been great. They haven’t quite made it yet, but it is fun to watch them try.
We love this show and watch it every week. Please do not cancel it. It has a more interesting story line than any other shows that have come along in a long time. The strange surreal feel to it and developing relationships among friends/colleagues is great and of course, the ruthlessness of Reese is a joy to behold. Like Jack Bauer but better. He’s outside the realm of the law, he does what is right even if the law wouldn’t allow it. He’s great. Please keep this great show!
