Though the ratings have fallen quite a bit, CBS renewed Person of Interest for a fifth season. Now we’ve learned that the TV show may be ending.
On Person of Interest, a presumed dead former-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) work together to prevent violent crimes in New York City. The rest of the cast includes Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker.
Deadline reports that, of the CBS shows that have been renewed, POI was the only one to not receive a full season order. At this point, season five will only have 13 episodes.
This is just what happened with The Mentalist a year ago — a series that was also produced by outside studio Warner Bros TV. It was rumored to be that show’s final season many months before the network would confirm it. With this short season renewal, it’s looking like history may repeat itself with POI.
If CBS does indeed cancel POI, the studio could potentially try to find another home for it. While the network doesn’t have a financial stake in the series, the studio does. By the end of next season, there will be 103 episodes — enough for a decent-sized syndication package.
It’s worth noting that the studio already has an off-network deal with WGN America for the series. That cable channel has been producing their own dramas Salem and Manhattan. The ratings have been very tiny for those shows but perhaps WGN could be an option to keep Person of Interest going.
What do you think? Should season five be the end for Person of Interest? Would you watch a sixth season on another channel?
yes!!!!!!
Person of Interest is one of the better shows to hit CBS in a long time and to hear that it is going to be cancel is disheartening…please allow POI to return. There are many other shows that should be cancel but remain.

It always seems that a great show loses the audience when they stray from the original premise. I enjoyed the show more when they were saving lives or had a twist when they thought they were supposed to save a life. When they started the whole thing with the
all seeing computer that was turning from good to evil, I lost interest. Whenever any show starts concentrating on one ‘bad guy’ or organization, it usually spells disaster for the show.
That said, I would love to see Person of Interest return if it goes back to its origin.
I also enjoyed it more in the beginning,,,,have a hard time following it now but still watch,,,,,
Person o f Interest is the best show CBS has going in the drama area, guess that’s why they are thinking about canceling it. Not happy with the “lesbian twist” they threw in with the girls but love most of the characters especially Jim Caviezel, please renew it
Person of interest is one of the few shows I look forward to viewing, If WGN picks up the series I would like to be notified,
Thank you
Charles
Love the show, keep the entire cast ……..
I am a huge fan of POI and it’s upsetting to hear the network’s only allowing 13 episodes to air! Another great show getting the axe! If another network was to pick up the series I would indeed follow no questions asked.
Yes I want POI back! I never missed an episode.
Fabulous show. If the writer keep with the kind of plots like the first 2 seasons. Did thw riters change.
I will never watch CBS again after the last POI
I was shocked to hear that POI was not coming back this Sept (2015). I hope the network does the right thing and allows the series to play out.
Would definitely like to see “Pereon of Intetest” returning for several Seasons to come and would gladly follow it on another channel/network.
Great cast and a chilling look at the future of computer surveillance continues to proliferate and “Big Brother” morphs into artificial intelligence that can ruin people’s lives with a keystroke. Sort of a precursor to what “Skynet” became in the “Terminator” franchise.
I would watch it
“Person of Interest” is the ONLY show on tv that I make a point to watch!
