(New York, NY) Animal Planet’s popular series PIT BULLS & PAROLEES features Tia Torres, a true believer in second chances. For more than 20 years, Tia has dedicated her life to New Orleans-based Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest pit bull rescue center in the U.S. She has also offered a fresh start to parolees and a new lease on life to dogs that were discarded and demonized because of the reputation of their breed. PIT BULLS & PAROLEES is back this summer for an all-new season with new stories, but the same heart we know and love, beginning Saturday, August 5 at 9PM ET/PT.
After a long recovery from a devastating leg injury, Tia gets back into in full swing and relies on her children, their significant others and the parolees to help keep the ever-expanding rescue center running. Tia fights a never-ending battle that’s grown to include dogs of every type and size, in desperate need of help. Many are unwanted pets dumped on the road, found wandering in the swamps, or thrown over the Villalobos gates. It’s the reality of running the nation’s largest pit bull sanctuary, where each new day brings happiness or heartbreak – and sometimes both.
In addition to the summer season premiere, Animal Planet’s annual tradition of “You Watch, We Give” for PIT BULLS & PAROLEES will continue Saturday, August 26 at 9PM ET/PT to coincide with National Dog Day. “You Watch, We Give” takes place as part of Animal Planet’s on-going commitment to make a positive impact in the animal world; the network will donate money to Villalobos Rescue Center with the total donation based upon the episode’s viewership. Animal Planet encourages viewers to tune in for “You Watch, We Give” to help drive its donations to Villalobos.
To support “You Watch, We Give” on Animal Planet’s social channels, fans are encouraged to share photos of their dogs with the #ShowUsYourPups hashtag across Twitter, Instagram or the Pit Bulls & Parolees Facebook page and it may appear on TV during the episode. In previous years, Animal Planet’s donations from “You Watch. We Give” has helped cover Villalobos’ expenses, including veterinary bills and food and shelter costs for the rescued pit bulls.
To satiate fans desire for additional content, Animal Planet digital and social (AnimalPlanet.com, Pit Bulls & Parolees page on Facebook and Animal Planet on Facebook and Twitter via @AnimalPlanet) will be offering Tattoo Tales (WT), a series of all-new short form content where fans will get up close and personal with Tia and her family, along with the parolees, as they share the stories behind some of their most meaningful tattoos.
PIT BULLS & PAROLEES is produced for Animal Planet by 44 Blue Productions and Rive Gauche Television. Rasha Drachkovitch and Billy Cooper are the executive producers for 44 Blue Productions. For Animal Planet, Lisa Lucas is executive producer and Patrick Keegan serves as supervising producer.”
What do you think? Do you watch Pit Bulls & Parolees? Will you watch the new season?
Absolutely love the show, I admire Tia and her family. Thankyou for what you do
I’m a 70 yr. old RN with 9 rescue dogs. Being treated for cancer, found that watching Pit-bulls & Parolees and Miss Tia, and her crew was the most healing
and life affirming moments of this time. Grass roots movement ? Do we know why the show was cancelled?
Yes, both my husband and I watch, even reruns, but we really like when a new episode is aired. Please keep them on the air.Please. Tia teaches good Morales and rescues animals. And they need the money. Please producers keep them. It’s what tv needs it should be a regular tv in addition yo animal planet. Advertise the times and channel they are on air, please. Thank you, they are winners!
I watch reruns! Every day…love this show!
Of course I will be watching the new season an any other seasons you put out there. Dam (LOL) didn’t like it at first but I am TOTALLY HOOKED. IT’S MANDATORY that all things stop and all eyes are glued to the TV. (I just read Althea’so comment and could never agree more you nailed it).
Why do you want to cancel a show that displays the best in human nature. Not only does Tia give animals a second chance but a second chance for the people she helps. It should matter.
Yes, I will watch!
Please keep Pit Bulls & Parolees on Animal Planet.
Please keep pit bulls and parolees on it’s my most favorite show I will protest to keep it on plus my dogs watch it thanks Diana Heinz
Pitbulls and Parolees is my favorite show. What wonderful compassionate people Tia and her extended family are. Please continue to support their work; I did not know how to respond to the special event to fund the show and hope that this note will add to Animal Planet’s perception of how much Villa Lobos contributes towards our better selves.
Pit Bulls & Parolees is my favorite show. I’m one of those people who prefers dogs over most of the people I know. I am a total fan of Tia and her family, and completely support their dog rescue, and giving parolees a second chance. One of the parolees I miss most is Armondo. I’d really like to see him again. And Earl is awesome! I never miss an episode. I often consider moving to New Orleans to help Tia and her family. I’m retired, and have all the time in the world.
I truly believe that Tia, her family and the parolees are true hero’s to all animals. Need more people like them in the world.
I am a 70 year old Social Worker. Both my husband and I watch the show.I like the idea of Tia changing lives and giving dogs and people second chances. She is a born social worker without even knowing it. Glad to see the show returning another season. Why does she not apply for some grant money to help support her work. She does so much for all of the cities and counties that she serves.
I love this show they help so much to save pit bulls and other animals
God bless all of them for the work they do helping animals and people!
