The biggest ratings news of the night was on NBC. The peacock network’s schedule continues to struggle. Chuck was preempted but, luckily for fans, Matt Lauer Reports: George W. Bush didn’t fare better than the action comedy.
After a one week break, The Event suffered another big ratings drop. The serial drama lost 15% of its demo audience when compared to the last episode that aired on October 25th. Since the series was given a full season, hopefully producers will give loyal viewers some closure by the end of the season.
At 10pm, Chase also fell, but not as significantly as The Event. However, Chase has already fallen so low that you have to wonder how much lower it could go. On Monday, the series attracted less than half of the demo audience of its closest timeslot competitor (ABC’s Castle).
Over on FOX, House had been off since October 18th and didn’t miss a beat. Lie to Me got a nice little boost after being away for a week. Unfortunately that was not much better than The Event’s numbers.
The ratings for the CBS comedy block was essentially staus quo. Hawaii Five-0, which kept losing viewers each of its first five weeks on the air, seems to have leveled off to about a 2.9 rating. Last week, the demo numbers were up by 7.1% and this week they dropped 3.3%.
On ABC, Dancing with the Stars matched its week ago demo numbers and it was once again in first place in the 8pm hour. At 9pm, as per usual, Dancing attracted more total viewers than Two and a Half Men but didn’t get a big of a demo rating (which is what’s ultimately most important). At 10pm, Castle was down for the second week in a row. While it was running neck and neck with Hawaii Five-0, there’s more distance between the two now.
